Alliance Services, Inc. is seeking a travel nurse RN Telemetry for a travel nursing job in Cudahy, Wisconsin.

Opportunity:

RN - Tele

Job Details:

• Work 12-hour shifts with day shifts running 7:00 AM to 7:30 PM and night shifts running 7:00 PM to 7:30 AM
• Weekend rotation every other weekend required
• 50% of holidays per contract required
• Low census on-call only - may be placed on low census call for up to 36 hours per contract
• Schedule is made in 6-week increments and released approximately 3 weeks prior to start
• Minimum 1 year of MedSurg/Telemetry experience required
• Required certifications: BLS and NIHSS; ACLS preferred
• Patient ratios: Days 1:4-5, Nights 1:6-7 (up to 1:8 in uncommon circumstances)
• Care for mostly geriatric patients with cardiac, neuro, and general medical diagnoses including CHF, chest pain observation, seizure/stroke observation, COPD, and respiratory/kidney/liver/GI issues
• Required skills include NG tube placement and management, foley placement and management, chest tube management, Pleurex and other drains, wound care, central line/ports/midline blood draws, and cardiac rhythm interpretation
• Must be comfortable titrating drips including Cardizem, amiodarone, heparin, Lasix, and insulin within set parameters
• EMR system: EPIC
• IV pump: Alaris; medication dispensing: Pyxis
• May float to other MedSurg units or anywhere in the hospital where MedSurg patients are located, including ER hold and ICU, but will only take MedSurg patient assignments
• Scrub color: Any solid color, professional - no graphics, logos, denim, or designs

This facility is a Level IV Trauma Center with 100 beds total and a 28-bed telemetry unit averaging 20-22 patients per day. The unit is supported by a charge RN with a reduced patient assignment, HUC coverage until 11:00 PM, 24/7 respiratory therapy and hospitalist services, phlebotomy for peripheral lab draws, and centralized telemetry monitoring with tele techs. The unit culture is collaborative and supportive, with ongoing work focused on culture and staff engagement.
