Mitigation Estimator Water, Mold & Fire Restoration

Location: Inland Empire
Employment Type: Full-Time

Position Overview

We are seeking an experienced Mitigation Estimator to support our growing restoration operations. This role is responsible for inspecting losses, developing accurate mitigation estimates, and working closely with operations teams, adjusters, and clients to ensure timely approvals and execution.
The ideal candidate has strong field knowledge, understands insurance-driven mitigation scopes, and can produce clear, defensible estimates aligned with industry standards.
Key Responsibilities

  • Conduct on-site inspections for water, mold, and fire losses
  • Develop detailed mitigation and demolition estimates using Xactimate

  • Identify scope based on category/class of loss and industry best practices
  • Prepare and submit estimates, documentation, photos, and reports
  • Communicate effectively with adjusters, property managers, and homeowners
  • Support operations with scope clarification and change orders
  • Assist with moisture mapping, documentation, and job file compliance
  • Coordinate with third-party vendors for testing (asbestos, mold, lead, etc.)
  • Ensure estimates align with carrier guidelines and company standards
Qualifications

  • Minimum 1year+ experience estimating mitigation/restoration work
  • Strong working knowledge of Xactimate (required)
  • Understanding of water categories, drying principles, and mold protocols
  • Familiarity with insurance claims processes and adjuster communication
  • Ability to read moisture data and field documentation
  • Strong attention to detail and organizational skills
  • Professional communication skills (written and verbal)
  • Valid drivers license and clean driving record
Preferred (Not Required)

  • IICRC Certifications (WRT, ASD, AMRT, FSRT)
  • Experience with large-loss or commercial claims
  • Familiarity with SERVPRO systems and standards
