Role description:
Arcadis is seeking a Senior Water/Wastewater Project Manager to join our Atlanta team as a proven doer/seller who can immediately lead active municipal projects while supporting continued account growth.
We have a strong backlog of existing work and are seeking a hands-on project manager who can step into ongoing assignments, provide technical leadership, strengthen client confidence, and deliver successful outcomes from day one.
The ideal candidate combines strong project execution skills, water/wastewater technical depth, and the ability to identify and convert future opportunities through trusted client relationships.
Role accountabilities:
The Senior Water/Wastewater Project Manager, will immediately assume management of active municipal water and wastewater projects. They will lead project scope, budget, schedule, quality, risk, and client communications.
Other responsibilities include:
  • Provide technical leadership on water, wastewater, pump station, collection/distribution, stormwater, and treatment projects.
  • Serve as a trusted advisor to municipal clients across Georgia.
  • Lead multidisciplinary teams and mentor junior engineers and technical staff.
  • Manage planning, design, and construction administration activities in compliance with applicable codes, regulations, and Arcadis quality and safety practices.
  • Coordinate internal resources to deliver projects on time, within budget, and to client expectations.
  • Support account growth through strong delivery, relationship management, and targeted pursuits.
  • Lead proposal development, interviews, scopes of work, and fee strategies for strategic opportunities.
  • Grow relationships with key clients including City of Atlanta, DeKalb County, Gwinnett County, Cobb County, Paulding County, and Cobb County-Marietta Water Authority.

Qualifications & Experience:
Required Qualifications:
  • Minimum 10 years of water / wastewater and/or stormwater experience.
  • Minimum 5 years of demonstrated project management experience delivering municipal infrastructure projects.
  • Bachelor's degree in Civil or Environmental Engineering or related field of study.
  • Professional Engineer (PE) license required; Georgia PE preferred or ability to obtain within one year.

Key Skills and Attributes:
The ideal candidate will demonstrate strong team leadership and mentoring capabilities, along with excellent written and verbal communication skills. They will bring proven client management and relationship development skills and have experience preparing construction documents and managing project delivery teams. Commercial awareness is essential, including experience with proposals, budgets, and overall project financial performance.
Preferred Qualifications:
The preferred candidate will bring 15+ years of relevant consulting experience and hold a master's degree in Civil or Environmental Engineering or a related field. Ideal candidates will have established relationships with Georgia municipal clients and utilities, along with a proven track record of winning work and growing client accounts. Experience managing multidisciplinary teams and working with multiple stakeholders is essential, as is experience delivering projects ranging from under $1 million to multi-million-dollar capital programs. Active participation in regional or national industry organizations is also preferred.
