Seeking Mechanically inclined individual with crusher experience that can re-lace a belt with the best of them, stick weld like nobody's business, maintain gear boxes, pulley systems, change out rollers, jaw die's, drive belts, and isn't scared of heights (who doesn't enjoy roller coasters right!?), you're awesome, we're awesome...did we just become best friends!?

The Levy Group of Companies is seeking Plant Operators for our Whitesville Mill Services location in Crawfordsville, IN. This position operates mobile equipment, slag processing plant, and maintains the plant, conveyor, crusher, and screens.

 
Pay: $25.00-32.00 hour (based on experience)
Shift/Schedule: Monday - Friday 6:00am-4:00pm

Responsibilities
The Plant Operator will:
  • Operate mobile equipment to feed plant
  • Perform pre and post operation inspections of plant and mobile equipment
  • Diagnose and repair equipment malfunctions
  • Replace drive belts, jaw dies, screen decks and maintain gear boxes and pulleys.
  • Ensure preventive maintenance and repairs are made on plant, secondary structures, related maintenance tools, and safety equipment.
  • Manage the startup and shut down process for the plant, conveyors, crushers, and related components
  • Maintain housekeeping of yard and plant
  • Inspect and monitor the plant and secondary structures to ensure safe and proper operation
  • Determine proper settings for crusher and feeder
  • Monitor the plant to ensure proper operations
  • Monitor air emissions and will take appropriate corrective action
  • Adjust the plant based on production and plant performance data
  • Ensures material production schedule is maintained
  • Determines timing and controls watering of stockpiles
  • Checks stockpile to ensure product quality and mixes material to desired consistency
  • Perform other projects as assigned by supervisor

 
Skills
The ideal candidate will have:
  • Ability to operate heavy mobile equipment and plant
  • Mechanical aptitude with ability to identify mechanical malfunctions
  • Ability to weld and burn
  • Knowledge of plant equipment, conveyor systems, screens, and crushers
  • Knowledge of materials and appropriate safety procedures
  • High school diploma or equivalent
