Assemblers perform a variety of tasks at Wabash that vary from location to location. Assemblers are responsible for tasks such as installing subassemblies, assembling component parts, operating rivet punchers, and installing decals.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

Below are examples of the type of duties you could be responsible for:

• Owning and helping improve our performance in Safety, Quality, and Delivery
• Keeping the work area free of any potential work hazards
• Measuring, cutting and caulking materials
• Installing rivets
• Operating heavy machinery
• Installing truck bed flooring
• Following decal templates & blueprints
• Installing signs, reflectors, fenders, mud flaps, and other associated parts
• Performing additional work assigned by the supervisor or coordinator, which may require the employee to assist in different departments)
• Wearing approved personal protective equipment such as safety shoes, gloves, safety glasses with side shields, respirators, hearing protection, etc.
• Completing assigned duties in accordance with safety, policies, and practices, including your individual safety, as well as the safety of co-workers, and the safe use of equipment in the workplace

Qualifications:

• High school degree or G.E.D. equivalent is required.
• Basic reading/writing and verbal skills.
• Must be able to pass a pre-employment drug screen.
• Ability to lift and carry up to 50 lbs.

Knowledge, Training, Skills and/or Experience:

The work requires climbing of over six (6) feet in height using a ladder or scaffolding and to bend and stoop to reach the underside of the tanks. Physical requirements include bending, stooping, and climbing for approximately 30% of the shift and standing for approximately 70% of the shift. Working conditions may consist of loud noise, welding, paint fumes, and grinding dust.

While performing the duties of this job, the employee may be exposed to fumes or airborne particles, as well as moving mechanical parts and vibrations. The employee is occasionally exposed to a variety of extreme conditions at job sites where the noise level can be very loud with high temperatures at times. Physical Demands:

As an Assembler, you are regularly required to stand, walk, lean, push, climb, sit, bend, kneel, stoop, handle, and operate tools or controls for the entirety of their shift. The employee needs a full range of motion in arms and hands, all assemblers must be able to successfully communicate with fellow employees as well. Some assemblers also work in small spaces throughout their shift and frequently lift and/or carry objects weighing up to 50 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision and the ability to adjust focus, along with good hand-eye coordination.
