Wastewater Operator
Position Title: Wastewater Operator
Employment Type: FullTime
Schedule:Thurs-Sat 7PM to 7AM and Wed 1AM to 7AM
Location: Mount Pleasant, Texas
About the Role
At Pilgrim's, Safety Is A Condition, which means the safety of our team members comes first - always. We are seeking a dedicated and safetyfocused Wastewater Operator to join our operations team. In this role, you will be responsible for the daily operation, monitoring, and maintenance of wastewater treatment systems to ensure compliance with all federal, state, and local regulations. This position is ideal for someone who is detailoriented, mechanically inclined, and committed to protecting public health and the environment.
Key Responsibilities
  • Operate, monitor, and maintain wastewater treatment equipment, pumps, valves, and control systems.
  • Perform routine inspections of plant processes and equipment to ensure proper functioning.
  • Collect and analyze wastewater samples; record and interpret data to maintain regulatory compliance.
  • Adjust chemical feeds, flows, and processes as needed.
  • Maintain accurate logs, reports, and documentation.
  • Troubleshoot mechanical and operational issues; perform minor repairs.
  • Assist with preventive maintenance activities.
  • Follow all safety procedures and participate in ongoing training.
  • Respond to emergency callouts or afterhours situations as required.
Minimum Qualifications
  • High school diploma or GED.
  • Must have a Valid Driver's License with acceptable driving record.
  • Ability to perform physical tasks including lifting up to 50 lbs or more, climbing, and working in outdoor environments.
  • Basic mechanical aptitude and willingness to learn wastewater processes.
  • Ability to wear a respirator.
  • Ability to operate PIT and Yard Truck
Preferred Qualifications
  • State Wastewater Operator License (Class I, II, or higher).
  • Experience in wastewater treatment plant operations or related utility work.
  • Knowledge of SCADA systems, pumps, motors, and laboratory testing procedures.
  • Strong problemsolving and communication skills.
Work Environment
  • Indoor and outdoor work in varying weather conditions.
  • Exposure to wastewater, chemicals, and mechanical equipment.
  • Rotating shifts, weekends, holidays, and oncall duties may be required.
