Job Description
An Oiler oils and greases marine equipment such as diesel engines, pumps, shafts, and operates them and other machinery. Will work with the watch engineer on duty at all times. The Oiler will assist in making engine room repairs on water, oil, and slop oil tanks. May lift, carry, pull, or push miscellaneous equipment up to 75 lbs.
JOB FUNCTIONS
- Take equipment readings and gauging tanks under the watch engineer's
supervision.
- Assist as need in the engine room
- Assist on the dredge as needed
