Job description

Primary Purpose:
This position will be responsible for the operation of the Water Treatment Plant and the associated wells.
Will be required to maintain optimal water treatment quality to provide water for every operation throughout the Lumber Bridge complex.
This position will also be responsible for documentation and communication to every facility within the Lumber Bridge complex, Wastewater and Environmental.
This position supervises Water Treatment Operators.
Major Duties & Responsibilities:
  • Oversee and maintain water treatment operations and wells including but not limited to, parts, supplies, maintenance, preventative maintenance, record keeping and chemical inventory needed for proper system operations.
  • Maintenance of wells and all water treatment equipment.
  • Analyze operational data, logs and improvements needed to accomplish treatment and solid removal objectives. Document and report results to the Regional Wastewater Manager and the Environmental department. Additional reporting to the Department of Natural Resources and Environmental Control (DNREC) will be required for well water usage and permitting.
  • Supervise daily operations of the Water Treatment Plant and wells through direct supervision of hourly staff. Is responsible for selection, performance management, training and development of employees. Develop and administer the staff schedule.
  • Operate and maintain the Water Treatment Plant and wells providing a safe working environment with proper safety equipment and tools needed for team members. Maintain high quality water from the Water Treatment plant in addition to the quantities of water needed for the entire Lumber Bridge complex.

Qualifications:
  • High School Diploma or GED.
  • 5 or more years of Water and/or Wastewater experience.
  • Water Treatment license with required endorsements.
  • Strong knowledge of applicable compliance requirements and state and federal (EPA) regulations.
