Job description

IntroductionYou're a multitasker, capable of moving a mile a minute and keeping everyone else on track. There's an art and a science to a well-organized calendar-and nothing makes you happier than an empty inbox.

Overview

Under the general direction of the Manager of Process Engineering, Organizational Excellence, the Process Engineer supports process improvement and implementation initiatives within the Distribution and Configuration Center. This role applies Continuous Improvement and Lean principles to identify and execute opportunities that enhance safety, quality, delivery, and cost performance. Responsibilities include reviewing, designing, and implementing production workflows and process layouts for the TIDC to improve productivity, optimize labor utilization, and reduce waste. The Process Engineer also serves as a liaison between the Solutions Engineering Group (SEG) and Lab Operations to ensure new or modified projects are properly established and supported by clear, accurate, and comprehensive work instructions for seamless deployment. In addition, this position monitors TIDC operations to identify opportunities for improved efficiency through enhanced production methods and process designs.

What We Do:

We calm the confusion of IT by guiding the connection between people and technology. If a customer is looking for a better way to manage their warehouse inventory, equip their workforce, or secure their data, we make it happen. All it takes is finding the right combination of tech hardware, software, cloud solutions, and support services. That’s what we do. We’re the IT Department’s IT Department.

Who We Are:

Our team is made stronger by a multitude of backgrounds, experiences, and perspectives. It’s what makes Connection unique—what drives us to innovate and create technology solutions that stand apart from the crowd. We’d love for you to be a part of that fabric, to share your ideas and experiences with a team that thrives on fresh thinking, creativity, and helping others.

Why You Should Join Us:

You’ll find supportive teammates and a rewarding career at Connection—plus great benefits. We take pride in supporting employees with a total rewards package that provides financial, emotional, and physical resources for you and your family. Our compensation, 401k plans, medical insurance, and other benefits are progressive and competitive. We value the importance of our employees’ emotional well-being. To support employees, we provide free therapy visits, mental health coaching and tools, and meditation resources. You’ll also enjoy a generous paid time off package that includes not only vacation and sick time, but also Wellness and Volunteer Time Off days.

Applicants must be authorized to work for any employer in the U.S. We are unable to sponsor or take over sponsorship of an employment visa at this time.

ResponsibilitiesProcess Improvement and Operational Optimization

  • Identify, develop, and implement process improvements across TIDC departments using Continuous Improvement and Lean principles.
  • Support process and operational optimization initiatives that improve productivity, efficiency, labor utilization, and cost performance.
  • Support the development and review of product, process, and technical specifications across all TIDC verticals.

  • Partner with the Solutions Engineering Group (SEG) and Lab Operations to ensure new or modified projects are properly established and supported by clear, accurate, and comprehensive work instructions and processes.

  • Advanced technical knowledge of light manufacturing or distribution processes.
  • Experience applying Lean Six Sigma principles, including Kaizen, Gemba, Standard Work, 5S, and Value Stream Mapping, to improve process efficiency.
  • Strong quantitative analysis and data-driven decision-making skills.
  • Proficiency in AutoCAD.
  • Engineering design and fabrication experience in a manufacturing and/or distribution facility.
  • Ability to support and drive continuous improvement initiatives across cross-functional teams.

  • Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to collaborate effectively with all levels of the organization.
  • Strong organizational skills with the ability to document activities, anticipate issues, and monitor performance against priorities and deadlines.
  • Ability to quickly learn new processes, systems, or situations with minimal direction or training.
