Job description

Position Summary:

Warn Industries is seeking a Buyer III to manage NPI (New Product Introduction) project launches, implement and manage supplier contracts and optimize sourcing strategies. Additionally, utilizing JD Edwards (JDE) and Power BI, the Buyer III will analyze supply chain risks, manage supplier contracts, issue and manage RFQ’s, and drive continuous improvement initiatives. This position requires a high level of accountability, urgency, analytical thinking, and ownership in a fast-paced manufacturing environment.


Essential Functions:

  1. Serve as a supply chain resource supporting company-wide sourcing and procurement initiatives.
  2. Manage New Product Introduction (NPI) projects from RFQ development and supplier evaluation through supplier selection and receipt of materials.
  3. Identify supply chain risks and implement sourcing strategies to mitigate disruptions.
  4. Collaborate with Engineering, Quality, Planning, Production, Logistics, and Finance to achieve cost, quality, and delivery objectives.
  5. Support departmental goals related to inventory optimization, supply chain performance, and key performance indicators (KPIs).
  6. Create, negotiate, administer, and maintain supplier contracts.
  7. Develop and execute mitigation plans to minimize supply disruptions and protect production schedules.
  8. Develop and maintain strong supplier relationships.
  9. Monitor supplier performance related to quality, delivery, responsiveness, capacity, and lead times.
  10. Support supplier development, lead-time improvement, and cost reduction initiatives.
  11. Utilize Power BI and Excel to analyze procurement performance, inventory risks, shortages, and supplier performance.
  12. Develop and maintain reports, dashboards, and KPI tracking tools.

13. Provide data-driven recommendations to management and cross-functional teams.

14. Manage Engineering Change Orders (ECOs) and coordinate supplier implementation activities.

15.  Support Supplier Discrepant Material Report (SDMR) investigations and corrective action efforts.

16.  Proactively identify and escalate material, quality, logistics, and capacity risks before they impact operations.


Required Education and/or Experience:

·       Bachelor’s degree in Business, Supply Chain Management, Operations Management, or a related field.

·       Minimum of five (5) years of purchasing, sourcing, procurement, or related supply chain experience.

·       Experience within a manufacturing or industrial environment.


Required Qualifications:

·        Experience with ERP systems, MRP processes, and inventory management.

·        Strong proficiency in Microsoft Excel, including Pivot Tables and lookup functions.

·        Experience working with domestic and international suppliers.

·        Strong analytical, organizational, and problem-solving skills.

·        Excellent communication, interpersonal, and customer service skills.

·        Ability to effectively manage multiple priorities and deadlines.

·        Demonstrated sense of ownership, accountability, and urgency.

·        Ability to work collaboratively across cross-functional teams.


Preferred Qualifications:

·        Experience utilizing JD Edwards (JDE).

·        Experience creating reports and dashboards using Power BI.

·        APICS CPIM, CSCP, CPSM, or related professional certifications.

·        Experience negotiating and managing supplier contracts.

·        Experience supporting New Product Introduction (NPI) programs in a manufacturing environment.
