Job description

Warn believes that every team member plays a significant contribution role in our success. We enable our customers with the tools they need to work and play outdoors. This position description is designed to outline the primary duties of the role, qualifications, and job scope. Just as we do not want our customers to be limited in the outdoor space, we do not want to limit our employees nor the organization to just the work that is identified. It is our expectation that each team member will serve their customers wherever, whenever necessary to ensure the success of our endeavors.

Position Summary:

Under guided leadership in a structured environment, performs routine warehouse duties related to the shipment, receipt, storage and movement of materials, supplies, equipment, and finished goods. Prepares, obtains, and completes all proper required forms, documents, and labels as it relates to shipping/receiving processes.

Essential Functions:

The essential functions of this position require prioritizing and completing all assigned tasks in a timely and efficient manner, adjusting for changing priorities and availability of resources, and demonstrating initiative in identifying additional job-related tasks to be completed when time permits.

  • Performs functions in support of the Distribution team, in Distribution or Receiving, as required. This may include: (a) Offload inbound shipments, check-in PO receipts against packing slip, sort and segregate inbound POs, receive POs in system, and deliver materials and/or goods to appropriate drop zones or mailstops; (b) Pick, pack, and stage customer orders; (c) Load shipments on spotted or live trailers at the dock; (d) Audit finished/packed orders; (e) Complete stock replenishments delivered to Distribution’s Finished Goods and Receiving drop zones from other production areas utilizing Warn’s ERP and WMS applications; (f) Prepare and/or complete necessary forms, documents, and labels as it relates to a specific shipping/receiving process; (g) Check goods against shipping/receiving documents; and (h) Actively participate in continuous improvement projects and engage in all department continuous improvement development.
  • Demonstrate proficiency in at least one of the following shipping/receiving processes in the first 3 months of employment at Warn: Wrapping/Loading, UPS, Warehousing, Picking, Offloading/Receiving, and Auditing.
  • Must continue learning and training in at least one additional shipping/receiving processes by the first anniversary of employment at Warn.
  • Escalates shipping/receiving issues to key leadership personnel as necessary or when directed.
  • Required to actively engage in general housekeeping, 5S, and other lean manufacturing activities assigned by leadership.

Required Education and/or Experience:

  • HS diploma or equivalent preferred.
  • 1 year Stand-Up Forklift experience required (must be competent/safe in all equipment operation). Must be able to operate reach-lifts, stand-up pickers, sit-downs electric rider jacks, and manual pallet jacks of various weight/height capacities.
  • One year of distribution or warehouse experience required. Basic computer skills for use with WMS, RF scanner, ERP, UPS WorldShip, FedEx Ship Manager, and other system tools. Additionally, must demonstrate proficient use of tape measure, box knife, and tape gun.

Physical Requirements:

The physical demands described below are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this position. Reasonable accommodation may be made to enable individuals with disabilities to perform the essential functions.

  • Move to, from and within the designated work area frequently and consistently throughout the workday and regularly throughout our building and/or across Warn-related property site locations.
  • Lift, transport and/or move up to 50 pounds solo and 100 pounds with assistance, frequently each day in the performance of regular duties. May require occasional pulling/maneuvering over 1000 pounds with assistance. Must be able to work at heights. Occasional bending, stooping, kneeling, climbing and descending a stepladder may also be required.
  • Safety Shoes are required to be worn during work shift.
