Location: Miramar National Cemetery, San Diego, CA
Employment Type: Full-Time
Schedule: Various shifts between 5:00 AM and 9:00 PM, including weekends and federal holidaysPosition Overview
We are seeking professional and dependable Unarmed Security Guards to support operations at Miramar National Cemetery. Security personnel are responsible for maintaining a safe, secure, and respectful environment for visitors, staff, contractors, and government property while preserving the dignity and solemnity appropriate to a national cemetery.Key Responsibilities
  • Conduct routine foot and vehicle patrols throughout cemetery grounds and facilities.
  • Monitor access points and observe activities to deter unauthorized access, vandalism, theft, or disturbances.
  • Respond appropriately to security incidents, emergencies, suspicious activity, and visitor concerns.
  • Maintain security logs, daily activity reports, and incident documentation.
  • Assist visitors by providing directions and general information in a courteous and professional manner.
  • Observe and report safety hazards, property damage, and unusual activities.
  • Support funeral services, ceremonial events, and other cemetery operations by maintaining a peaceful and orderly environment.
  • Coordinate with cemetery personnel, emergency responders, and law enforcement when necessary.
  • Operate in accordance with established post orders, policies, and security procedures.
Minimum Qualifications
  • Active California BSIS Security Guard Registration.
  • Minimum 21 years of age.
  • Valid driver's license with a clean driving record.
  • Ability to successfully pass required background screening.
  • Legal authorization to work in the United States.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.
  • Ability to prepare accurate reports and maintain detailed records.
  • Professional appearance and customer service-oriented attitude.
