Job description

Overview

The Warehouse Training Specialist is responsible for the initial and ongoing training of warehouse personnel.  This includes creating training documents, SOPs, hosting training meetings, seminars, orientations, and leading training exercises on the production floor.  The training specialist will also be responsible for ensuring production personnel obtain and maintain various certificates pertaining to training such as PIV operator licenses etc.

Responsibilities

Essential Functions (To perform within this position successfully, the incumbent must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. Other duties may be assigned.)

  • Ensure Team Members have the proper tools and equipment to perform their jobs
  • Develop and maintain training materials for a dynamic working environment
  • Trains and certifies team members to safely use a variety of PIV equipment
  • Effectively communicate company processes and procedures to team members
  • Create and maintain a positive working environment that enhances team spirit
  • Coach, counsel, and provide guidance and on-the-job-training to Team Members
  • Communicate with Team Members concerning expectations, performance, and any changes
  • Support company values and goals to establish a world class organization
  • Ensure that all work is performed within specification
  • Maintain housekeeping to 5S standards
  • Conduct or participate in team and safety meetings, and promote safety within the workplace
  • Prompt, regular, predictable attendance
  • Physical presence at work during all scheduled work hours
  • Overtime and weekend work as required
  • All other job duties as assigned
Qualifications

Basic Qualifications (The requirements below represent the knowledge, skills, and/or ability required and preferred for this position.)

Required Knowledge, Skills, & Abilities:

  • Basic computer skills
  • Strong problem solving and conflict resolution skills
  • Ability to make good decisions and take decisive action in a fast-paced environment
  • Good verbal and written communication skills
  • PIV Experience (Forklift, High Reach, Order Picker)
  • RF Scanner Experience
  • Warehouse Operation Systems Experience

Preferred Education & Experience:

  • High School diploma or equivalent, plus two years of experience in distribution

Working Conditions

  • 50% of time spent on the warehouse floor, traversing around the warehouse floor, communicating with multiple levels of team members, 50% office work developing/maintaining training documentation

Physical Demands

  • Lifting up to 30 Pounds repeatedly
