Rio Grande Service Center, the Southwest's premier pet food and pet supply distributor is actively seeking an Assistant Warehouse Manager for our Albuquerque, NM warehouse. Qualified candidates should have experience in management of 25 or more employees under their direct supervision. Hiring a people manager is our primary objective for this position. We can teach the warehouse part. Previous warehouse management, shipping and receiving, and logistics experience are traits of our ideal candidate. Anyone with experience developing and managing people in fast paced environment is encouraged to apply. All applicants selected for interview will be required to demonstrate the ability to lift 50 pounds above their head. Managing the warehouse entails strenuous physical activity daily with most of the shift spent on your feet. Job description- Assistant Warehouse Manager

-Oversee the safe receipt, storage, retrieval and timely dispatch of all inventory.

-Ensure workplace health and safety requirements are met and take responsibility for the security of the building and stock.

-Set and maintain productivity targets

-Responsible for personnel issues such as recruitment, training and discipline of staff.

-Oversee picking, packing and all related distribution activities.

-Motivating, organizing and encouraging teamwork.

-Overseeing stock control and processing orders.

-Responding to and dealing with customer communication by email, fax and telephone.

-Keeping stock control systems up to date and planning future capacity requirements.

-Producing regular reports and statistics on a daily, weekly and monthly basis.

-Overseeing the planned maintenance of vehicles, machinery and equipment.
