Description

The Warehouse Manager is responsible for providing developmental leadership to the warehouse team and overseeing daily operational excellence to ensure efficiency, accuracy, and safety while managing the end-to-end fulfillment lifecycle for our combined retail storefront and e-commerce operation. This role involves directly leading and developing a year-round team with a focus towards maintaining organizational health and employee well-being. You will also be responsible for overseeing the full recruitment cycle for seasonal team members. Functionally, this role has a major emphasis on successful inventory management through the use of WMS, with additional focuses on accurate order fulfillment and process optimization. This is a highly collaborative role, working closely with other department leaders and under the guidance of the Operations Manager. The ideal candidate will be a hands-on and people-focused leader who is highly organized, adaptable, and has a keen interest in continuous improvement.

Leadership & Team Development
  • Provide real-time feedback and guidance to your team, encouraging professional growth and optimal team performance.
  • Identify opportunities for task delegation to team members to empower them and foster their professional growth.
  • Conduct quarterly check-ins and annual reviews with the warehouse team, with an emphasis on employee development.
  • Manage the full recruitment lifecycle for seasonal and year-round team members, screening, interviewing, hiring, and training staff.
  • Create and implement work schedules, ensuring the department is optimally staffed based on seasonal order volume and warehouse operational needs. This includes processing all time off requests and schedule adjustments.
  • Collaborate with People Operations to manage the departmental seasonal offboarding process.
  • Train on current and new processes for all team members, updating department processes and SOP documents regularly.
  • Oversee and ensure all necessary staff are trained on key certifications (i.e., forklift operator, order picker operator, etc.)
Entrepreneurial Operating System (EOS)
  • Facilitate the weekly Warehouse Level 10 (L10) meetings.
  • Represent the warehouse department in weekly Operations L10 meetings
  • Drive accountability and clarity within the team using EOS tools and principles.
  • Be familiar with and follow EOS best practices
Operations
  • Oversee and optimize all recurring inventory management activities, including receiving, storage, transfers, restocking, and inventory counts.
  • Oversee and optimize all recurring activities within the order fulfillment process, including picking, packing, shipping, and returns processing.
  • Effectively organize, communicate with, and motivate the team to complete all departmental priorities. At times, this will include hands-on work of daily warehouse tasks.
  • Identify shipping issues, and serve as the primary point of contact for troubleshooting and resolution.
  • Leverage NetSuite for inventory management, reporting, and workflow optimization.
  • Manage relevant supplier relationships and maintain accurate inventory of necessary department supplies at all times. Note: this does not include rate negotiations which are handled by Finance.
Safety, Quality & Facilities Maintenance
  • Enforce applicable safety regulations and standards.
  • Ensure the warehouse remains clean, secure, and compliant.
  • Manage equipment and vehicle maintenance, working with Finance to coordinate any necessary repairs and improvements.
  • Prioritize and manage incoming shipments, coordinating logistics with shipping carriers.
  • Uphold high standards for inventory accuracy through regular cycle counts and inventory audits.
Cross-Functional Collaboration
  • Work closely with Customer Service, Tech, and Buying teams to ensure a seamless customer experience and a high degree of inventory accuracy.
  • Serve as the primary point of contact for all warehouse-related issues.
Physical Demands:
  • Ability to lift 75 lbs, handle weight up to 18 lbs overhead, and frequently lift 20-30 lb boxes.
  • Comfortably climb a 12-foot ladder while carrying objects weighing 5-20 lbs.
  • Willingness to get certified for operation of necessary equipment, including forklifts and order pickers.
  • Ability to work on feet for most of the day.
Requirements
  • Positive, adaptable, and highly collaborative.
  • A willingness to learn new processes, and an eagerness to optimize them over time.
  • Strong leadership skills, with a people-first mindset.
  • 3-4 years of warehousing or e-commerce retail experience in a leadership role.
  • Strong proficiency in NetSuite, RF-Smart, or similar WMS for managing inventory and warehouse operations.
  • Experience with warehouse organization and best practices
  • Experience with heavy machinery operations such as forklifts.
  • Experience with employee recruiting and onboarding.
  • Familiarity with EOS framework
  • Experience with scheduling teams, with an emphasis on being able to creatively optimize allocation of labor.
