Job description

Position Summary
The Machine Operator is responsible for performing machine-specific production tasks in a safe, efficient, and accurate manner to meet daily manufacturing requirements. Working under general supervision, this role operates production equipment, monitors product quality, records production data, and ensures machines and work areas are properly maintained. The Machine Operator supports continuous production flow while adhering to safety, quality, and operational standards.
Essential Duties/Responsibilities
The following duties are typical of those performed by employees in this job title; however, employees may perform other related duties, and not all duties listed are necessarily performed by each employee in the job title:
  • Operate assigned machinery safely and efficiently to meet daily production requirements
  • Enter accurate production data into machine or production computer systems
  • Read and interpret manufacturing work orders, cut-sheets, and written instructions
  • Inspect products for correct size, finish, and quantity throughout the production process
  • Examine materials for defects and report issues promptly to supervision
  • Assist in identifying root causes of production or quality issues
  • Ensure machines are operating properly and safely at all times
  • Perform routine machine adjustments such as lubrication checks and minor mechanical adjustments as trained
  • Report mechanical or safety concerns to appropriate personnel
  • Package finished products for shipping or transfer
  • Assist with physical inventory counts as required
  • Maintain a clean, organized, and debris-free work area, keeping machinery and work-in-progress materials orderly
  • Comply with all company policies, safety requirements, and OSHA regulations
  • Participate in safety meetings and accident-prevention initiatives
  • Properly wear all required personal protective equipment (PPE) at all times
  • Other duties may be assigned to meet business needs

  • Familiarity with hand tools and production equipment
  • Ability to read and follow written work instructions and manufacturing documentation
  • Strong attention to detail and quality standards
  • Basic mechanical aptitude and ability to understand cause-and-effect relationships related to machine operation
  • Ability to work independently as well as collaboratively within a team environment
Work Environment/Physical Demands
Typical warehouse environment with moderate noise levels. Regularly required standing, walking, sitting, use of hands, reaching, talking, and hearing. Occasional lifting/moving of up to 50 pounds.
