Job description

This position receives, stores, and distributes material, tools, equipment, and products within the warehouse, ensuring accuracy and timeliness of all job functions.

Essential Functions

  • Assist shipping and receiving by unloading trucks, checking in products, matching purchase orders to sales orders.
  • Read customer orders, transfer orders, or shipping requests to determine items to be moved, gathered, or distributed and/or shipped.
  • Sort and place materials on racks/shelves/bins according to bin location.
  • File paperwork related to customer orders, purchase orders, receiving, shipping, and transfers in appropriate designated area.
  • Ensure the warehouse is accessible, clean, organized, and safe for salespeople and customer traffic.
  • Assemble customer orders from stock and place orders on pallets or shelves or relocate orders to a holding area or shipping department.
  • Clearly mark materials with identifying information using appropriate methods.
  • Record amounts of materials or items received or distributed via computer operating system.
  • Use proper weighing methods for shipment information when freight goes UPS or LTL.
  • May be assigned facilities maintenance duties as needed (trash removal, general cleaning).
  • Complete, fill, and ship transfer requests as needed from other branches.
  • Prepare parcels for shipment via LTL or UPS.

Physical Requirements

  • Lift/carry/push/pull heavy material or equipment (up to 75 lbs.).
  • Ability to climb stairs, descend stairs, balance, stoop, kneel, crouch, crawl, reach, handle and feel.
  • Climb up and down a 12 foot ladder.

Requirements

  • High school diploma/GED required.
  • Must have forklift training.
  • Ability to drive large warehouse equipment safely and within OSHA and KPS guidelines.
