Pay Rate: $16.23 per hour
Per Diem
GENERAL SCOPE: Greets and welcomes visitors, residents and staff in a professional manner. Provide information on daily activities and services provided by the Jewish Home of Rochester. Also responsible for accurate communication with Security regarding resident safety in the Lobby area including but not limited to JHR procedures regarding the observance and safety of all residents wearing Wander Alert Tags.
EDUCATION / QUALIFICATION: High school graduate or equivalent.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:
  • Monitors the Lobby area with priority given to Wander Alert Residents.
  • Insures that all visitors and vendors sign in and sign out in the Guest Logs.
  • Provides information assistance.
  • Takes and gives messages for all departments
  • Accepts and signs for packages received by vendors if after 12:00 pm.
  • Assists in the admission of new residents by calling the assigned social worker upon the new resident's arrival.
  • Calling the appropriate resident floor to have nursing taking residents back to their rooms if the resident requests it.
  • Assists in monitoring the fire alarm panel, door alarms and elevator alarms.
  • Assists in detecting wandering resident alarms.
  • Welcomes new admissions by giving the room number to the transporter and completing the new resident's admission status in the computer. Also calling the appropriate social worker and advising them that the new admission has arrived.
  • Inputs data into the computer for admissions, re-admissions, discharges and room moves. Communication with individual floor nursing staff may be required at various times with this procedure.
  • All other job duties as assigned.

EXPERIENCE: One (1) year experience relating to front desk operations, including public contact, information dispersal. Must be able to deal effectively with the public. Computer experience with Microsoft Outlook is required. The ability to also open other computer programs to retrieve information regarding resident rooms, events, admissions and resident lists is essential.
