Job description

Position Summary:

The Sales Analyst plays a critical role in driving Walmart and Walmart.com growth through data-driven insights, advanced analytics, and strategic storytelling. This individual partners closely with Sales, Customer Strategy, Supply Chain, Replenishment, Marketing, and Finance teams to identify opportunities, uncover risks, and influence business decisions across Walmart's omnichannel business. The ideal candidate combines strong analytical capabilities with the ability to translate complex data into compelling business narratives that drive actionable outcomes and sustainable growth.

Business Analytics & Insights:

Analyze Walmart POS, shipment, inventory, pricing, promotional, and eCommerce performance data to identify growth opportunities, business risks, and emerging trends.

Develop and maintain dashboards, scorecards, and KPI reporting to support customer planning, business reviews, line reviews, and strategic initiatives.

Synthesize large datasets into meaningful business insights and recommendations.

Identify sales drivers, whitespace opportunities, and category trends.

Deliver compelling executive-level presentations and business reviews that tell a clear story and drive action.

Support forecasting discussions and sales planning through performance analysis and trend identification.

eCommerce Analytics:

Analyze Walmart.com sales performance, traffic, conversion, assortment, and digital shelf metrics to identify growth opportunities.

Monitor key eCommerce KPIs and provide actionable recommendations to improve business performance.

Evaluate online item performance, category trends, and shopper behavior to support strategic decision-making.

Develop reporting and insights that help Sales, Marketing, and Customer Strategy teams prioritize growth opportunities.

Support omnichannel business reviews through data analysis, performance tracking, and storytelling.

Strategic Business Support:

Partner with Sales and Customer Strategy teams to evaluate promotions, pricing strategies, assortment opportunities, and innovation performance.

Provide analytical support for annual planning, customer meetings, and retailer presentations.

Develop post-event and promotional analyses to measure business impact and identify future opportunities.

Support category, shopper, and market insights initiatives to strengthen customer recommendations.

Monitor performance against business objectives and proactively identify areas requiring attention.

Cross-Functional Partnership & Leadership:

Act as an internal expert on Retail Link, Scintilla, and related Walmart reporting tools.

Collaborate closely with Supply Chain, Replenishment, Sales, Customer Strategy, Marketing, and Finance teams to align on business performance and opportunities.

Provide data-driven insights that support cross-functional decision-making.

Train and mentor team members on Walmart systems, reporting tools, analytics, and best practices.

Strategic Initiatives:

Support innovation launches, assortment decisions, promotional analysis, pricing recommendations, and other high-impact business initiatives.

Lead ad hoc analyses that help uncover opportunities for growth, efficiency, and profitability.

Contribute to continuous improvement of reporting, analytics, and business processes.

Qualifications

Required:

Bachelor's degree in Business, Finance, Analytics, Marketing, Economics, or related field.

5+ years of experience in CPG sales analytics, business intelligence, customer strategy, category management, shopper insights, or related fields.

Strong experience with Walmart Retail Link and Scintilla.

Experience with Item 360 and Walmart Supplier Center.

Advanced Excel and analytical skills.

Strong data visualization, presentation, and storytelling capabilities.

Ability to communicate insights effectively with both technical and non-technical audiences.

Ability to travel occasionally.

Full-time in-office presence required.

Preferred:

Walmart or Sam's Club omnichannel experience.

Experience with Power BI, Tableau, or similar BI tools.

Experience in Category Management, Shopper Insights, or Revenue Growth Management.

Experience mentoring or leading others.
