Job description

Uprite Construction is a leading commercial general contractor delivering complex ground up and tenant improvement projects across the Western United States. We are known for building lasting client relationships while delivering projects safely, on schedule, and with exceptional quality. We are looking for someone who EITHER lives in Los Angeles and can travel for future projects, OR someone in Orange County who is willing to commute to Los Angeles for this first project.

We are seeking an experienced Superintendent to lead the field execution of a large commercial kitchen and food production facility for CookUnity. This role requires a Superintendent with a strong mechanical background, particularly in commercial refrigeration, commercial kitchens, food production equipment, and walk in cooler and freezer systems.

What You'll Do:
  • Lead all day to day field operations from mobilization through project completion.
  • Manage project schedules and coordinate all field activities with the Project Manager.
  • Lead subcontractor meetings and maintain three week look ahead schedules.
  • Coordinate installation of commercial kitchen equipment, refrigeration systems, coolers, freezers, HVAC, plumbing, and electrical systems.
  • Manage mechanical trades to ensure proper sequencing and coordination with architectural and structural work.
  • Review construction drawings, specifications, RFIs, submittals, and field changes.
  • Coordinate inspections, equipment deliveries, startup activities, and commissioning.
  • Maintain quality standards while ensuring all work complies with project specifications and applicable codes.
  • Promote a strong safety culture and maintain accurate daily reports and documentation.
  • Drive project closeout, punch list completion, and owner turnover.
What You'll Bring:
  • 8 or more years of Superintendent experience with a commercial general contractor.
  • Strong experience managing commercial kitchen construction projects.
  • Experience with restaurant construction preferred.
  • Extensive knowledge of commercial refrigeration systems.
  • Experience coordinating walk in coolers, freezers, and food production equipment.
  • Strong understanding of mechanical, plumbing, HVAC, and electrical systems.
  • Experience managing tenant improvement or renovation projects in occupied commercial environments.
  • Ability to coordinate multiple subcontractors and maintain aggressive schedules.
  • Excellent communication and leadership skills.
  • Experience using Procore, Bluebeam, Microsoft Project, or similar construction software.
  • OSHA 30 certification preferred.
