Job description

Job Title: Commercial Kitchen & Cooler Installer

Department: Commercial Service

This position will be working for our Atlantic Coast, dba Silver State Refrigeration, division in Miami, Florida.

Pay Range: $22.00 - $25.00 per hour, DOE

This position will primarily work throughout Miami and surrounding areas, supporting commercial kitchen construction and restaurant projects.

Job Summary

The Installer is responsible for the installation, assembly, and setup of commercial kitchen equipment and walk-in cooler/freezer systems for restaurants, food service facilities, and other commercial projects. The Installer will work closely with project managers, contractors, and other trades to ensure equipment is installed safely, accurately, and in accordance with project specifications, manufacturer requirements, and applicable codes.

Duties and Responsibilities

  • Install commercial kitchen equipment, including cooking lines, refrigeration units, prep stations, shelving systems, and related components.
  • Assemble and install walk-in coolers and freezers, including insulated panels, doors, hardware, and accessories.
  • Measure job sites and verify equipment dimensions to ensure proper placement and fit.
  • Utilize hand tools, power tools, and installation equipment safely and effectively.
  • Secure and anchor equipment according to manufacturer specifications and project requirements.
  • Review project drawings, layouts, and installation instructions to ensure accurate installation.
  • Coordinate with contractors, project managers, and other trades to support project completion timelines.
  • Identify and communicate installation issues, material shortages, or site concerns to management.
  • Maintain a clean and organized work area while adhering to all company safety policies and procedures.
  • Ensure all installations meet applicable safety, quality, and code requirements.
  • Complete required installation documentation, time records, and project reports accurately and timely.
  • Follow all company, state, and federal safety guidelines while performing work duties.

Requirements and Qualifications

  • All qualified candidates must complete a pre-employment drug screen, motor vehicle (MVR) check, and background check. Additionally, candidates must maintain an insurable driving record as determined by the company's insurance provider.
  • Valid driver's license and acceptable driving record required.
  • Previous experience installing commercial kitchen equipment preferred.
  • Experience installing walk-in coolers and freezers preferred.
  • Experience using hand tools, power tools, and measuring equipment.
  • Ability to read and interpret construction drawings, equipment layouts, and installation instructions.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality workmanship.
  • OSHA certification preferred or willingness to obtain.
  • Experience working on restaurant, food service, or commercial construction projects preferred.

  • Comfortable working in confined spaces and around active construction sites.
