Job description

Minimum qualifications:
  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, a similar technical field of study, or equivalent practical experience.
  • 5 years of work experience in a technical role (e.g., software engineering, solutions consultant, etc.) or equivalent technical experience.
  • 2 years of experience in game development based on unity, unreal, or C/C /C# custom game engines.

Preferred qualifications:
  • Experience scripting and tooling in Android development environments such as Renderdoc, Perfetto, Frame Pacing API, SurfaceFlinger, GFX Reconstruct and Android GPU Inspector.
  • Knowledge of rendering and GPU pipelines such as OpenGL ES, Vulkan, Metal, or DirectX.
  • Ability to be comfortable to advocate with both internal teams and external partners.
  • Ability to take ownership of solutions and exert influence without authority.
  • Excellent problem-solving skills, with the ability to synthesize data into useful formats and bring actionable insights through effective communication.

The US base salary range for this full-time position is $163,000-$237,000 bonus equity benefits. Our salary ranges are determined by role, level, and location. Within the range, individual pay is determined by work location and additional factors, including job-related skills, experience, and relevant education or training. Responsibilities
  • Work with game developers and game engines in the Americas region to support exciting new product integrations on Android devices.
  • Optimize AA/AAA game titles, resolve engineering problems with Google technologies and scale the knowledge to improve the overall gaming ecosystem.
  • Advocate for game developers internally and influence Google developer product strategy by working with Product Management, Engineering, Marketing, Business Development, Public Relations, and other cross-functional teams.
  • Drive regular, engineering-focused workshops and meetings with developers to optimize the gaming experience and resolve complex technical problems at a scale of millions of users.
