As a VRI, your daily responsibilities include facilitating real-time verbal communication between parties via video conferencing platforms, often in healthcare, legal, or customer service settings. You'll need to listen actively, interpret messages accurately and impartially, and ensure all parties are understood. Additionally, you may be required to adhere to client confidentiality policies, maintain accurate records of interpreted sessions, and troubleshoot basic technical issues. While most VRIs work independently, there is usually ongoing collaboration with coordinators, clients, and occasionally other interpreters to provide high-quality service.
