Description
We are seeking a detail-oriented and experienced Compliance Specialist to join our compliance team. The Compliance Specialist will play a critical role in ensuring that VRC Companies, LLC ("VRC") adheres to all regulatory requirements, industry standards, and internal policies related to the privacy, confidentiality, and security of client information. This position involves developing, implementing, and monitoring compliance programs, conducting audits, and providing training to employees.
Key Responsibilities:
  • Develop, implement, and maintain comprehensive compliance programs to ensure adherence to federal, state, and local regulations, including but not limited to HIPAA, GDPR, CCPA, and NAID standards.
  • Monitor changes in relevant regulations and standards, and update policies and procedures accordingly.
  • Conduct regular audits and assessments of compliance practices, identifying and addressing any areas of noncompliance.
  • Collaborate with various departments to ensure that compliance requirements are integrated into all business operations.
  • Provide training and guidance to employees on compliance related topics, promoting a culture of compliance and ethical behavior.
  • Investigate and resolve compliance issues and incidents, ensuring appropriate documentation and reporting.
  • Maintain accurate and up to date records of all compliance activities, audits, and training sessions.
  • Assist in the preparation and submission of regulatory reports and documentation.
  • Stay informed about industry best practices and emerging trends in compliance and risk management.

Requirements
  • Qualifications:
  • Bachelor's degree in business administration, Legal Studies, Information Management, or a related field.
  • Minimum of 3-5 years of experience in a compliance role, preferably within the records and information management industry.
  • In-depth knowledge of federal and state regulations related to information privacy and security (e.g., HIPAA, GDPR, CCPA).
  • Familiarity with industry standards and guidelines, such as NAID and ISO 27001.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with attention to detail.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to provide clear and concise guidance.

Work Environment:
