Job Summary

The VP, AI Product & Technology leads the development, evolution, and commercial application of Cobalt's proprietary AI products and technology capabilities that differentiate Calcium+Company in healthcare and life sciences marketing.
Reporting to the EVP, Technology & Intelligence, this role serves as the senior leader responsible for translating Cobalt's three core capability pillars โ€” Development & Infrastructure, Data & AI, and Analytics, Search & Performance Marketing โ€” into productized solutions clients can buy, deploy, and scale.
In addition to product and technology leadership, this role plays a central part in client engagement, new business development, and external thought leadership, representing Cobalt's AI and technology capabilities in pitches, client conversations, and industry forums.
Key Job Responsibilities (Duties may include, but are not limited to all or some of the following)

Leadership
  • Own the vision, roadmap, and commercial positioning of Cobalt's AI product portfolio
  • Serve as the senior AI and technology voice for Cobalt internally and externally, partnering closely with the EVP, Technology & Intelligence
  • Mentor and develop cross-functional teams spanning product, engineering, data science, and applied AI
  • Partner with the Cobalt Solutions Manager to align inbound client work with productized Cobalt offerings, ensuring profitability and consistent delivery
  • Represent Cobalt in client conversations, pitches, and industry forums, translating technical capabilities into business and brand outcomes
  • Contribute to thought leadership initiatives โ€” POVs, conference appearances, and published perspectives โ€” that establish Calcium+Company as a leader in AI-enabled healthcare marketing
AI Product Strategy & Development
  • Define and execute the product roadmap for Cobalt's proprietary AI offerings, including capability priorities, release planning, and adoption strategy across internal teams and clients
  • Identify, evaluate, and bring to market new AI-enabled products and solutions that extend Cobalt's competitive differentiation
  • Establish frameworks for productizing emerging AI capabilities โ€” from research and prototyping to scaled deployment within client engagements
  • Govern the responsible, compliant, and strategic use of AI within healthcare marketing environments, including data privacy, regulatory considerations, and MLR alignment
  • Partner with Data & AI leadership to ensure proprietary data assets are leveraged effectively across Cobalt products
Technology & Platform Leadership
  • Provide strategic direction for the engineering and infrastructure underpinning Cobalt's AI products and digital platforms
  • Partner with Development & Infrastructure leadership on platform architecture, technology stack decisions, and integration with life sciences systems such as Veeva CRM and IQVIA OCE
  • Establish standards for code quality, security, scalability, and performance across Cobalt's product and platform investments
  • Evaluate and integrate emerging technologies โ€” LLMs, agentic frameworks, data infrastructure, marketing technology โ€” into Cobalt's capability set
Commercial Growth & Client Engagement
  • Drive new business development for Cobalt's AI and technology offerings, partnering with Calcium+Company account and strategy leadership
  • Lead senior client conversations on AI strategy, technology-enabled marketing, and applied innovation in healthcare and life sciences
  • Shape and present AI and technology components of pitches and proposals, articulating Cobalt's product and platform differentiation
  • Expand existing client relationships by identifying opportunities to embed Cobalt's AI products into ongoing engagements

Job Qualifications (Skills/Requirements)
ย 
  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Data Science, Engineering, or related field, or equivalent professional experience
  • 10+ years of experience in technology, AI, data science, or product leadership, with at least 3 years in a senior leadership capacity
  • Proven track record of building and bringing to market AI-enabled products or platforms, ideally in healthcare, life sciences, or marketing technology
  • Strong understanding of AI, machine learning, large language models, and applied generative AI, including how these capabilities translate into commercial offerings
  • Experience with modern data and engineering environments including Python, SQL, APIs, and cloud platforms such as AWS, Azure, or Google Cloud
  • Familiarity with life sciences and pharmaceutical platforms such as Veeva CRM, IQVIA OCE, and related commercial technology systems
  • Demonstrated ability to sell complex technical solutions to senior client stakeholders (CMO, Chief Digital Officer, CTO) and translate technical capabilities into business value
  • Strong product management instincts โ€” roadmap development, stakeholder alignment, release planning, and adoption strategy
  • Excellent communication and leadership skills, with the ability to engage technical teams, strategists, clients, and executive leadership with equal credibility
  • Experience supporting new business development and client-facing strategic engagements
  • Experience in healthcare, life sciences, or other regulated industries strongly preferred
