Job description

General Nature of Job:

Responsible for developing new business and maintaining current sheet rubber accounts


Essential Functions:

  1. Conducts sales activities to develop new sheet rubber business
  2. Make regular customer contact to achieve sales goals, promote customer good- will and takes actions to increase sales.
  3. Takes telephone calls from distributors, end-users, and processes the request using available resources and materials.
  4. Prepare pricing and discounts on standard product lines
  5. Collect information regarding applications, parameters, drawings, and makes a recommendation; works with appropriate GRT personnel to determine correct product.
  6. Coordinate with engineering and various departments regarding product development, service recommendations, product test results, customer complaints, inspection methods, and costs of new product development in relation to sales
  7. Completes quote follow up in conjunction with internal sales team to turn quotes into orders.
  8. Conduct training/capabilities programs for inside sales, distribution and end users as required.
  9. Evaluates urgency of the customer requirement and coordinates with production to obtain lead time delivery dates, expedite deliveries, or move up dates on new or existing orders.
  10. Conducts customer surveys to evaluate market conditions and present the voice of the customer.
  11. Prepare month end sales data and other sales data as requested by sales manager. Measure sales efforts against goals.
  12. Represents the company through memberships in trade associations and societies and assists in creating standards for the industry.
  13. Keeps VP Sales fully informed on all critical situations regarding quality, price, delivery or any sales problems.

  • Performs all other duties as assigned by the VP/ Sales & Marketing.

Position Qualifications:

  • B.S. Degree or equivalent experience and education.
  • Sheet Rubber sales experience preferred.
  • Excellent communication skills (written and oral)
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office Computer Applications
  • Able to work in high paced, multi-task environment
  • Self-Starter with supervisory skills
  • Ability to climb stairs, ladders, or other equipment necessary to access equipment.
  • Maintain a valid driver's license and have a good driving record.
