Job description

Vice President | Industrials & Business Services | Private Equity Talent Advisory

Location: New York City / Hybrid

Our client is a highly specialized advisory firm that partners exclusively with leading private equity investors throughout the investment lifecycle. Rather than operating as a traditional executive search firm, the organization helps investment professionals gain competitive advantage by providing access to senior operating executives, industry intelligence, leadership assessment, and executive relationships that influence deal sourcing, diligence, value creation, and portfolio performance.

For more than two decades, the firm has built one of the industry's deepest executive networks, serving many of the most respected middle market and large cap private equity funds in North America. Their work sits at the intersection of executive talent, investing, and strategic advisory.

As the platform continues to grow, they are seeking a Vice President to support their Industrials and Business Services practice.

This is a highly visible, client facing position working directly with private equity investors. The role combines executive search methodology, market mapping, executive assessment, and strategic advisory, without traditional business development responsibilities.

Responsibilities

• Partner with investment professionals on pre investment and portfolio company talent initiatives.

• Develop executive mapping projects across Industrials, Manufacturing, Distribution, Business Services, Environmental Services, Facilities Services, Logistics, Packaging, Industrial Technology, Engineering Services, and adjacent sectors.

• Conduct executive interviews and leadership assessments with CEOs, Presidents, Division Presidents, COOs, and other senior operating executives.

• Produce market intelligence, executive benchmarking, succession planning, and talent reports.

• Manage multiple client engagements simultaneously while maintaining exceptional quality.

• Partner closely with internal research and client teams throughout each engagement.

• Build long term relationships with executives, operating partners, board members, and private equity investors.

• Advise clients on leadership trends, talent availability, organizational design, and executive succession.

Ideal Background

• 7 to 10 years of retained executive search, leadership advisory, or executive talent consulting experience.

• Experience supporting private equity clients or private equity backed businesses.

• Exposure to Industrials, Manufacturing, Business Services, Distribution, Engineering, Infrastructure, or related sectors.

• Strong executive interviewing and assessment capabilities.

• Outstanding written communication and presentation skills.

• Highly organized with the ability to manage multiple sophisticated client engagements.
