Complementing the events at State Farm Stadium, Insignia Event Services exclusively manages Sportsman's Park and Heritage at Sportsman's Park, offering flexible venues for everything from pre-game activities and tailgating to concerts, festivals, corporate events, and graduations. Our services range from full-service event production, staging, and equipment rental to live presentation and transportation logistics, making us a trusted partner for exceptional events in Arizona.
Job Summary:
The Vice President, Operations / Assistant General Manager is responsible for leading the operational strategy, financial performance, and day-to-day execution of Insignia Event Services. As the organization's second-ranking operational executive, this role provides direct leadership for the Operations, Parking, and Facilities teams while partnering with the General Manager to drive business growth, operational excellence, and exceptional client and guest experiences across all venues.
The Vice President is accountable for strategic planning, budget management, expense control, operational readiness, event execution, workforce leadership, vendor management, and continuous process improvement. This position also provides executive oversight of capital improvement projects and facility investments, ensuring operational needs, project timelines, and organizational objectives are effectively aligned. Through strong leadership, fiscal discipline, and stakeholder engagement, the Vice President helps position Insignia Event Services for long-term growth and success.
Primary Job Duties:
  • Provide strategic leadership and operational oversight for all Insignia Event Services venues, including Sportsman's Park, the Great Lawn, and other owned or managed properties.
  • Develop and execute event programming, venue utilization, and event acquisition strategies that drive revenue growth and maximize asset utilization.
  • Lead and support sales, community engagement, and business development efforts through relationship-building with promoters, clients, partners, and industry stakeholders at the local, regional, and national levels.
  • Direct the Operations, Parking, and Facilities teams, ensuring alignment with organizational goals, service standards, and operational excellence.
  • Recruit, develop, mentor, and evaluate management and supervisory staff; establish clear performance expectations and accountability measures.
  • Oversee day-to-day venue operations, ensuring safe, efficient, and consistent execution of all events, programs, and facility activities.
  • Establish, implement, and continuously improve operational policies, procedures, and service standards to enhance safety, efficiency, guest experience, and event quality.
  • Provide executive oversight for event logistics, including venue setup, parking operations, traffic flow, perimeter management, directional signage, and client-specific operational requirements.
  • Lead post-event operational and financial reviews, utilizing performance data and stakeholder feedback to identify opportunities for continuous improvement.
  • Develop, manage, and maintain departmental operating budgets, forecasts, and staffing plans while ensuring fiscal responsibility and achievement of financial objectives.
  • Drive expense management initiatives and cost-control strategies, balancing operational needs with organizational financial goals.
  • Identify and evaluate opportunities for new revenue streams, operational efficiencies, and business growth.
  • Oversee vendor procurement, contract negotiation, and vendor performance management to ensure quality service delivery and favorable business terms.
  • Serve as the executive lead for capital improvement and facility enhancement projects, coordinating internal stakeholders, contractors, consultants, and vendors to ensure successful project execution.
  • Ensure compliance with all applicable federal, state, local, and organizational regulations, policies, and safety requirements.
  • Prepare and maintain operational, financial, and regulatory reports for venue ownership, management, stakeholders, and government agencies.
  • Foster strong client and stakeholder relationships and serve as the primary operational representative in the General Manager's absence.
  • Respond to and resolve escalated client, tenant, and guest service issues in a timely and professional manner.
  • Perform other duties and responsibilities as assigned.

Qualifications/Requirements:
  • Bachelor's Degree in a related field or equivalent relevant experience in operations, entertainment, communications, and/or business administration
  • 10+ years of related work experience in sports, entertainment, large-scale events, or strategic financial planning
  • Proven success leading teams, developing talent, and driving organizational performance.
  • Strong experience managing budgets, forecasts, expense controls, and financial reporting.
  • Demonstrated ability to negotiate and manage vendor, supplier, and service contracts.
  • Experience overseeing venue, facility, parking, or large-scale event operations.
  • Knowledge of capital improvement, facility enhancement, or construction project coordination preferred.
  • Strong project management, organizational, and decision-making skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
  • Excellent communication, relationship-building, and conflict resolution skills with the ability to collaborate across all levels of an organization.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite; experience with Asana, Salesforce, and other business management platforms preferred.
  • Experience fostering a positive, collaborative, and high-performing workplace culture.
  • Availability to work evenings, weekends, holidays, and event days as business needs require.
  • Ability to stand and move throughout large venue environments for extended periods, lift up to 50 pounds, and work indoors and outdoors in varying weather and noise conditions.
