About The Role:

The Vice President of Finance will be a key member of the executive leadership team, responsible for the strategic direction and oversight of the company's financial activities. This role will include managing multimillion-dollar budgets, ensuring financial integrity, and driving performance through financial planning and analysis. The VP of Finance will lead and mentor a lean and high-volume finance team, collaborating with other departments to support business goals, optimize profitability, and manage financial risks. This individual will play a critical role in shaping the company's strategy and performance through data-driven insights, capital allocation, and financial discipline.

Duties and Responsibilities

Strategic Financial Leadership

  • Lead the financial strategy for the company, ensuring alignment with long-term business goals and vision. 

  • Provide strategic financial guidance to the CEO, executive leadership team, and Board of Directors, driving decisions that promote both short-term profitability and long-term value creation. 

  • Oversee financial planning, budgeting, forecasting, and analysis to support the company’s growth, ensuring that financial performance targets are met across multiple business units. 

  • Lead strategic initiatives, such as mergers and acquisitions, new market entry, and capital structure optimization. 

  • Collaborate with cross-functional leaders to evaluate potential investments, partnerships, and new business opportunities, providing financial modeling, due diligence, and risk assessments. 

Financial Management & Operations

  • Manage and optimize the company’s multimillion-dollar budgets, ensuring resources are allocated efficiently across departments to maximize ROI and align with the company's strategic objectives. 

  • Oversee all aspects of financial operations, including accounting, reporting, taxation, treasury, and compliance. 

  • Drive the development and implementation of financial policies, procedures, and controls to ensure the highest level of financial integrity, transparency, and accuracy. 

  • Ensure timely and accurate financial reporting, including monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements, in compliance with all regulatory requirements. 

  • Manage cash flow, working capital, and liquidity to ensure the business maintains financial stability while supporting growth initiatives. 

Team Leadership & Development

  • Lead and mentor a high-performing finance team, fostering a culture of excellence, collaboration, and continuous learning. 

  • Provide professional development opportunities, ensuring the finance team is equipped with the necessary skills and knowledge to support business growth and operational effectiveness. 

  • Build and lead a team that provides actionable financial insights and recommendations to business units, helping departments meet their financial goals and improve performance. 

Financial Planning & Analysis

  • Lead the financial planning and analysis (FP&A) function, driving budget creation, forecasting, and long-term financial modeling. 

  • Ensure the company’s financial plans reflect the dynamic nature of the CPG beauty market, adjusting for seasonality, demand fluctuations, and evolving market conditions. 

  • Conduct financial analysis on key performance indicators (KPIs), sales trends, and profit margins to inform strategy and operational decisions. 

  • Develop and maintain performance dashboards, providing real-time visibility into financial performance, key metrics, and operational efficiency. 

Risk Management & Compliance

  • Oversee the company’s risk management strategy, identifying and mitigating financial risks related to markets, foreign exchange, regulatory changes, and operational performance. 

  • Ensure compliance with all local, state, and federal regulations, including tax filings, reporting, and financial controls. 

  • Lead the preparation for audits, working closely with external auditors and regulatory bodies to ensure that the company meets all financial reporting and compliance requirements. 

Investor Relations & Reporting

  • Serve as the primary liaison with investors, providing regular updates on financial performance, growth strategies, and potential risks. 

  • Prepare materials for Board meetings, including financial reports, budgets, and key strategic initiatives. 

  • Lead discussions on capital raises, investor relations, and maintaining investor confidence through clear and transparent financial reporting.

Qualifications
  • Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, Business, or a related field (MBA, CPA, or CFA preferred). 

  • 10+ years of experience in finance leadership roles, with a focus on financial management, budgeting, forecasting, and strategy within a CPG or beauty-related industry. 

  • Proven experience managing multimillion-dollar budgets and delivering on financial goals and performance metrics. 

  • Strong background in strategic financial planning, financial modeling, and analysis, with a solid understanding of the CPG business model and operational drivers. 

  • Deep knowledge of corporate finance, accounting principles, financial regulations, and tax laws. 

  • Proven track record of leading and scaling high-performing finance teams, with a focus on talent development and team leadership. 

  • Strong proficiency with financial software, ERP systems, and business intelligence tools (e.g., NetSuite, SAP, QuickBooks, Tableau). 

  • Excellent communication skills, with the ability to present complex financial information to non-financial stakeholders and senior leadership. 

  • Ability to think strategically, solve problems, and make data-driven decisions to achieve long-term financial success. 

  • Experience working with private equity, venture capital, or other investors is a plus. 

Preferred Skills & Qualifications

  • Experience in the beauty or consumer goods (CPG) industry with a deep understanding of the specific financial and operational challenges in these sectors. 

  • Familiarity with the financial nuances of DTC (Direct-to-Consumer) models, digital marketing ROI, and e-commerce channels. 

  • Experience with international finance, including foreign exchange risk management, cross-border tax compliance, and global accounting standards.
