Job description

Who We Are
Accommodations Plus International (API) is a technology and services company focused on driving innovation across the travel and transportation industry. We partner with organizations in the airline, cruise, and rail sectors to deliver solutions that improve layover operations, enhance customer experience, and support long-term growth.
Our mission is to make layovers simpler and more efficient for crew members-and we bring that to life through deep industry expertise and a practical, results-driven approach.
Today, API's platform powers over 18 million crew room nights each year for 100+ airlines and travel operators worldwide. Our Global Reach ensures that airline crews are rested, transported, and connected so global aviation runs on time.
At API, we're building a culture rooted in succeeding and thriving together. It's a place where people are encouraged to take ownership, develop their skills, and contribute to work that matters.
If you're looking to grow your career in a company that values steady progress, real impact, and long-term development, we'd like to meet you!
Role Overview
We are seeking a visionary and highly collaborative Vice President of Product Management to own the strategy, execution, and lifecycle of MyCrewCare, our mobile app for crew engagement. You will act as the bridge between our customers, engineering, design, and go-to-market teams to build and scale this product, delivering measurable business value and user delight.
This is a growth mandate. MyCrewCare is the daily touchpoint for crew across our airline and operator clients, and its next chapter moves it beyond a schedule-and-hotel utility toward an AI-assisted, ecosystem-connected platform for crew travel and layovers. The central challenge is engagement - crew today tend to check one thing and leave. You will own the North Star, Features Used per Session, and the strategy to raise it: the funnels, habit loops, and layover-and-discovery experiences that bring crew back. Every decision is made through a dual lens - a crew (C-side) value story and an operator/airline (B-side) value story that drives adoption, retention, and new business.
To succeed, you will bring an outside-in perspective - benchmarking MyCrewCare against the best consumer travel, hospitality, and marketplace apps, importing proven external best practices, and holding the product to the design and experience bar the category now expects. This is a role for a leader who has built and scaled products elsewhere and can bring that external vantage point to MCC from day one.
Key Responsibilities
Strategy & Vision
• Define and communicate a compelling product vision, strategy, and short- to long-term roadmap, anchored to a clear North Star: Features Used per Session.
• Translate business goals and market opportunities - US as the largest market, APAC and Europe as the fastest-growing - into actionable product requirements and technical specifications.
• Conduct ongoing market research, competitor analysis, and root-cause analysis on crew pain points and workflow friction to identify new feature opportunities.
• Frame the roadmap as a growth and retention narrative, pairing a crew value story with an operator/airline value story for every major initiative.
• Set the longer-term direction toward AI-assisted crew workflows, a layover-and-discovery ecosystem, and hotel and partner integrations.
• Maintain continuous market and competitive intelligence - benchmarking MyCrewCare against leading consumer travel, hospitality, and marketplace apps - and translate outside trends and best practices into prioritized roadmap bets.
Execution & Delivery
• Lead cross-functional teams (engineering, design, QA) through the agile product development lifecycle, from ideation to launch and iterative optimization.
• Own the product backlog, prioritize features based on ROI and effort, and make data-informed trade-off decisions.
• Uphold platform UX consistency - a shared design language, reusable components, and a coherent navigation model - so the experience stays unified as it scales.
• Coordinate highly effective product launches in close partnership with Product Marketing, Sales, and Customer Success teams.
UX & Design Leadership
• Interface closely with the company-wide UI/UX Lead - aligning MyCrewCare with the shared platform design language and standards, while driving the specific experience outcomes this app needs to win.
• Own the end-to-end UI/UX vision and quality bar for MyCrewCare, holding the product to a consumer-grade design standard that rivals the best travel and lifestyle apps.
• Select, brief, and manage external design, UX, and branding agencies and specialist studios - owning the engagement end to end and integrating their output cleanly into the internal product and delivery model.
• Establish and govern the design system, interaction patterns, and usability standards so design quality scales consistently across the platform.
• Run continuous product discovery and usability research, grounding design and roadmap decisions in direct evidence of crew behavior rather than internal assumption.
Analytics & Iteration
• Define Key Performance Indicators (KPIs) and success metrics for every product release.
• Instrument the core workflow funnels and define the First Value Action, so engagement and drop-off are measurable end to end.
• Monitor product performance, analyze user behavior, and champion continuous experimentation (e.g. A/B testing) to maximize adoption and retention.
Qualifications & Skills
• Experience: 10+ years of proven product management experience, successfully taking complex software or technical products from 0 to 1 and beyond, including ownership of a mobile-first consumer or B2B2C product through scale.
• Recent Customer-Facing App Ownership: Has managed a live, customer-facing mobile app within the last 2-3 years, including hands-on use of AI to drive prototyping, analytics, and insights.
• Travel / Marketplace Technology: Hands-on experience in travel, mobility, hospitality, or marketplace / platform technology - e.g. travel tech, ground transport, hospitality, passenger services, or a two-sided marketplace - with an understanding of how value on one side of the platform drives the other.
• External Perspective: Joins from outside the organization, with a proven track record built at other leading consumer, travel, or marketplace companies - bringing fresh, category-informed best practices and an outside-in point of view from day one.
• External Agency Management: Demonstrated experience selecting, contracting, and managing external design, UX, and branding agencies and specialist studios, and integrating their output into an internal product and delivery model.
• UI / UX Craft: Strong design sensibility and a high UI/UX quality bar; able to direct and challenge designers and agencies, review craft in detail, and hold the product to a consumer-grade standard.
• Market Intelligence: Deep, current knowledge of the competitive landscape across consumer travel, hospitality, and mobility, with a habit of market research, benchmarking, and turning outside signals into product decisions.
• Leadership & Influence: Exceptional ability to build consensus and influence cross-functional peers without direct line management, plus experience mentoring or managing product managers.
• User Empathy: A passion for human-centered design and a relentless drive to solve customer problems.
• Data Fluency: Strong quantitative skills with hands-on experience utilizing analytics platforms (e.g. Amplitude, Mixpanel, Google Analytics) to drive decision-making.
• Communication: Outstanding written and verbal communication skills; ability to distill technical concepts into clear, executive-ready narratives.
• Education: Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Business, Engineering, or a related quantitative/analytical field is preferred.
Compensation:
The good faith compensation for this position is $150,000 - $200,00, commensurate with experience.
