Position requires ability to be on site at our Keele location in Delray Beach, approximately 1-2 days per week. 

Regional VP of Development, Florida Main Duties and Responsibilities:

1. Overall responsibility of advancing Caron’s fundraising and Regional Advisory Board (RAB) engagement/growth efforts in their region.

2. Oversees the management and growth of the RAB, including, but not limited to: coordination of the quarterly meeting, preparing agendas, communicating with the RAB at large, recruitment of new membership, etc. Will work in close consultation and partnership with the Chair of the Advisory Board. Serves as the liaison between the RAB and Caron Treatment Centers.

3. Works collaboratively with the Regional Advisory Board on the development and execution of regional board goals that align with Caron’s strategic plan.

4. Works with the Vice President of Regional Advancement and the Chief Development Officer (CDO) to meet annual and campaign related fundraising goals specific to their Region.

5. Coordinates frequent high-level prospect meetings with the President and CEO. Ensures that the President & CEO is well prepared in advance of each meeting (prospect profile, agenda, strategy, etc.)

6. Identifies, cultivates, solicits and stewards major gift prospects in their region. Coordinates with the CDO and the President & CEO where high-level touch points are necessary to advance a major gift.

7. Collaborates with the Regional Alumni Coordinator to develop a pipeline of new major gift prospects. Additionally, coordinates with the Florida alumni and development team on any cases returning to their Region.

8. Actively participates in monthly Major Gift, High Capacity and Regional Development meetings.

9. Updates Salesforce regularly with appropriate notes and activity. Communicates updates/changes to a given record to the Development Services Specialist.

10. Responsible for leadership and coordination of the annual dinner to reach/exceed fundraising goals for this major, annual, philanthropic event. Consults with the Vice President of Regional Advancement and CDO. Additionally, executes a contract with the local Special Events firm and ensures benchmarks for services are being met.

11. Represents Caron at area special events where key donors or constituents are involved.

3. Must be able to present to audiences in large and small group settings, which may require long periods of time concentrating and may include continuous delivery of multiple presentations. May require standing for extended periods of time.

4. This position allows for remote work and therefore requires appropriate home office space that allows for confidentiality and privacy with computer access and high-speed internet capability.

Education/Experience Qualifications:

1. Bachelor’s degree in a related field is required, Master’s degree is preferred.

2. Minimum of 5-7 years of fundraising experience. Major gift and special event experience is strongly preferred.

3. Experience working with a Board of Directors and Special Event Committees is strongly preferred.

4. If in recovery, one-year continuous sobriety is preferred.

5. A meaningful connection to addiction and recovery is preferred but not required.
