Job Description

The Senior Vice President, Commercial Strategy & Marketing is a newly created senior executive role within the Windows & Doors Business Unit, designed to consolidate and elevate the commercial engine of the organization. This leader will be accountable for defining and executing a comprehensive go-to-market strategy with a portfolio of leading residential window brands and delivering an exceptional customer experience that drives above-market growth.

The SVP will lead three core functional teams - Marketing (Channel Marketing & Sales Enablement), National Accounts & Business Development, and Sales Operations (including Customer Service, Field Service, and Warranty), - creating an integrated, high-performing commercial organization. As a senior executive, this individual will serve as a key member of the Windows & Doors Business Unit Leadership Team and will lead through both direct authority and cross-functional influence.

Marketing - Channel Strategy & Sales Enablement

  • Lead the marketing function with emphasis on channel marketing & sales enablement across diverse customer types and geographic regions.
  • Partner closely with Sales, Product Management, Operations, and Finance to ensure alignment between product strategy, channel execution, and commercial outcomes.
  • Establish a market intelligence capability that monitors competitive activity, customer trends, channel dynamics and emerging market opportunities to inform strategic decision-making.
  • Oversee development of value-driving marketing programs that increase brand preference, generate demand, and support channel partners.
  • Establish measurement frameworks to evaluate marketing ROI and continuously optimize program investment.
  • Responsible for revenue-driving go-to-market strategies, including strategic account planning, promotions, partnerships, trade marketing, and market development fund investments to accelerate growth.
  • Drive customer acquisition, engagement, and retention through contractor programs, brand investments, loyalty initiatives, conversion strategies, and account-based marketing plans.
  • Enable sales and partner success through targeted sales enablement, territory growth planning, and alignment with brand marketing to maximize commercial performance.

Go-to-Market Strategy & Customer Value Proposition

  • Develop, own, and continuously refine the business unit's go-to-market strategy, including segmentation, targeting, and channel mix.
  • Define and articulate a compelling customer value proposition that differentiates the business in the marketplace and resonates across customer segments and regions.
  • Drive above-market revenue growth by identifying and capturing new commercial opportunities, white space, and adjacent markets.
  • Lead commercial transformation initiatives that improve sales effectiveness, customer acquisition, channel productivity and organizational capability.
  • Establish NPS and customer satisfaction as core operational metrics, embedding them into team cadences and strategic decision-making
  • Lead strategic planning cycles with a rigorous, data-driven approach that connects commercial initiatives to financial outcomes.
  • Oversee the national accounts portfolio, ensuring disciplined account management, executive-level customer relationships, and consistent delivery against growth targets.

Sales Operations, Customer Experience, Field Service & Warranty

  • Provide strategic oversight of Sales Operations, including the customer experience, field service, and warranty functions, ensuring operational excellence and seamless customer experiences. This team reports into a VP, Commercial Operations.
  • Define and monitor service-level standards and KPIs that drive customer satisfaction and retention.
  • Identify and eliminate operational friction across the customer journey, from initial inquiry through post-sale support and warranty fulfillment.
  • Partner with supply chain, product, and finance functions to align service delivery capabilities with commercial commitments.
  • Provide leadership oversight of the Quote & Order system (AccuQuote), ensuring it supports speed, accuracy, and a frictionless buying experience for customers.
  • Leverage system capabilities and data to improve commercial team productivity and customer insight

Leadership, Team Building & Talent Development

  • Build, develop, and inspire high-performing teams across all functional areas, establishing a culture of accountability, collaboration, and continuous improvement.
  • Lead through influence across functions not directly in the reporting structure (e.g., Product, Finance, Supply Chain, IT) to align the organization behind commercial priorities.
  • Serve as an active member of the business unit senior leadership team, contributing to enterprise-wide strategic priorities beyond the commercial function.
Qualifications

Experience

  • 15+ years of progressive leadership experience in marketing, sales, and/or commercial strategy roles, with a minimum of 5 years at the VP level or above.
  • Demonstrated experience leading integrated commercial functions including sales, marketing, customer experience, business development and/or commercial operations within a building products or similarly complex B2B environment.
  • Proven experience shaping business strategy and influencing P&L performance through commercial, pricing, channel and customer growth initiatives.
  • Proven track record of driving above-market revenue growth while simultaneously achieving high customer satisfaction scores (NPS or equivalent).
  • Experience building and leading high-performing, multi-functional commercial organizations of significant scale.
  • Extensive experience leading through influence in a matrixed organization across functions such as Finance, Operations, Supply Chain, and Product.

Skills & Competencies

  • Enterprise Leadership & Collaboration: Demonstrates an enterprise-first mindset, consistently prioritizing business unit and company outcomes over functional interests.
  • Strategic Thinking: Ability to synthesize market dynamics, competitive intelligence, and internal capabilities into a clear, actionable commercial strategy
  • Results Orientation & Bias for Action: Focuses leadership discussions on outcomes, decisions, risks, and priorities rather than becoming mired in operational detail.
  • Financial Acumen: Strong command of P&L management, commercial investment analysis, pricing economics, and translating strategy into financial outcomes
  • Analytical Rigor: Comfort with data-driven decision-making and ability to establish and use performance metrics to drive accountability and continuous improvement
  • People Leadership: Proven ability to attract, develop, and retain top talent and build cultures of high performance
  • Change Leadership: Track record of successfully driving organizational change, building new capabilities, and leading teams through ambiguity with resilience, accountability, and a focus on forward-looking solutions.
