Summary/Objective: The Vice President of Manufacturing and Supply Chain provides strategic and operational leadership across all manufacturing activities, including internal production, external contract manufacturing, and vendor partnerships. This position ensures that the company's manufacturing network - both in-house and outsourced - delivers on quality, cost, delivery, and scalability goals. The VP collaborates closely with the Sr. VP of Operations and Hardware Engineering to maintain and enhance a resilient and high-performing manufacturing ecosystem.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
Strategic Leadership
  • Develop and execute a comprehensive manufacturing strategy that integrates internal operations, contract manufacturers, and key suppliers.
  • Lead long-term planning for capacity, technology investments, and global manufacturing footprint optimization.
  • Align manufacturing capabilities with business growth, product roadmaps, and customer expectations.
  • Achieve Operational Excellence by fostering a culture of continuous improvement, setting a vision, empowering teams, focusing on processes and data.
  • Oversee multi-site production and fulfillment operations, ensuring consistent performance across internal plants and external partners.
  • Implement continuous improvement initiatives to drive efficiency and lead-time reduction
  • Establish standardized processes, KPIs, and reporting across all manufacturing locations and contract manufacturers.

Vendor & Contract Manufacturer Management
  • Build and maintain strong relationships with critical vendors, suppliers, and contract manufacturing organizations (CMOs).
  • Negotiate supply agreements, manufacturing contracts, service levels, and performance expectations.
  • Evaluate and qualify new suppliers and CMOs to support capacity expansion, cost reduction, and risk mitigation.
  • Monitor vendor and CMO performance through scorecards, audits, and regular business reviews.
  • Partner with supply chain and quality teams to ensure suppliers meet cost, quality, and delivery requirements.

Quality, Safety & Compliance
  • Ensure all manufacturing - internal and external - adheres to regulatory, safety, and quality standards.
  • Oversee quality systems, audits, and corrective actions across the entire manufacturing network.
  • Drive a culture of safety, compliance, and continuous improvement.
  • Cross-Functional Collaboration with Internal Teams and External Partner Networks
  • Work closely with supply chain, procurement, engineering, and R&D to support new product introductions and manufacturability.
  • Coordinate with finance on budgeting, cost modeling, and capital planning.
  • Partner with procurement to optimize supplier selection, cost structures, and long-term sourcing strategies.

Financial & Resource Management
  • Oversee manufacturing budgets, capital expenditures, and cost-reduction initiatives.
  • Develop financial models for make-vs-buy decisions, outsourcing strategies, and vendor consolidation.
  • Ensure manufacturing operations - internal and external - meet cost, margin, and productivity targets.
  • Attract, retain, and develop high-functioning employees that align with company goals
  • Embed a culture of excellence by supporting a mindset where every employee is empowered to contribute ideas and take ownership of operational outcomes
  • Strengthen organizational capability in vendor management and outsourced manufacturing oversight.

Qualifications:
Education & Experience
  • Bachelor of Science Degree
  • Operations Management and/or Manufacturing
  • 12-15+ years' experience in Operations Management, with emphasis on multi-site outsourced Manufacturing, Quality Assurance, and Order fulfillment.
  • Proven success managing vendor relationships, contract manufacturers, and global supply partners.
  • Strong strategic planning and operational leadership abilities.
  • Expertise in lean manufacturing, quality systems, and supply-base management.
  • Excellent negotiation, communication, and cross-functional collaboration skills.
  • Financial acumen with experience in cost modeling, contract negotiation, and vendor performance management.

Supervisory Responsibilities: This position has supervisory responsibilities
Travel: Minimal Travel (less than 25%)
