VP, Global Product Compliance Description -

HP is seeking a highly experienced, strategic, and hands-on leader to drive the company’s Global Product Compliance function. This individual will report directly to HP’s Chief Sustainability Chain Officer and will be accountable for global compliance across our product portfolio.

The preferred candidate will bring experience in leading compliance across a global technology company—including Personal Systems (PCs), Print and Supplies, Software, Solutions, and Services—enabling broad oversight of HP’s evolving and diverse business offerings. The candidate will have deep experience in overseeing and executing strategic compliance work, including developing and leading large teams of compliance professionals, connecting with cross-functional leaders to influence and strengthen compliance and business strategy, communicating effectively with regulators, translating regulatory requirements into actionable business guidance, influencing product development for compliant market-ready launches, and serving as HP's representative in industry compliance forums and regulatory engagements. The preferred candidate will also have demonstrated experience in building and managing governance frameworks for compliance risk management, incident response, and escalation protocols.

This is a pivotal role in ensuring HP maintains regulatory readiness across global markets while enabling product innovation, responsible design, and speed-to-market. The VP will partner closely with R&D, Legal, Supply Chain, Government Affairs, and regional compliance leaders.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Lead HP’s product compliance strategy and execution across PCs, Print and collaboration devices, Supplies, and Software/Solutions, with a significant focus on prioritization.
  • Lead a global team of compliance professionals to develop scalable systems to monitor, interpret, report, and proactively identify risks for evolving regulations, including EU WEEE, REACH, RoHS, PFAS, CLP, Lot 3 / 4, ESPR, digital, and software product regulations.
  • Build and manage governance frameworks and standards of procedure for compliance risk management, cross-functional collaboration, incident response, and escalation protocols.
  • Guide and support cross-functional teams in designing and embedding compliance processes into product lifecycles.
  • Synthesize regulatory requirements into strategy and actionable business guidance and influence product development to enable compliant, market-ready launches.
  • Advance HP’s digital transformation of compliance through tools, dashboards, and process automation
Experience:
  • 12+ years of experience in global product compliance, regulatory affairs, or product stewardship
  • Required: strong experience in PC compliance; Preferred: Print, Chemicals, or Software/Solutions experience
  • Familiarity with global regulatory frameworks and enforcement trends in key regions (e.g., EU, US, China, LATAM)
  • Experience working across multiple product domains and managing multidisciplinary teams.
  • Proven ability to lead in highly matrixed environments and drive alignment across business, legal, and technical functions at working and leadership levels.
  • Demonstrated success managing regulatory complexity and balancing business enablement with risk mitigation.
  • Experience managing global budgets & resources, with responsibilities of annual operating plans, strategic roadmaps, short & long-term business planning.
  • Experience developing and leading a large global organization spanning multiple levels of management.
  • Demonstrated success developing organizational capacity through talent management, leadership development, coaching, and building high-performing teams.
Knowledge/Skills:
  • Bachelor's degree required; Engineering, regulatory, or legal academic background preferred.
  • Strong communication and stakeholder engagement skills with executive presence.
  • Deep understanding of product development and regulatory impact across lifecycle stages.
  • Strategic, data-driven thinker who thrives in complexity and drives simplification.
  • High integrity, proactive mindset, and commitment to compliance excellence.
  • Skilled in building and leading diverse, high-performing global teams.
