Job Summary
The Vice President Engineering leads the organization responsible for building, operating, and scaling the digital platforms that power the company's global ecommerce, fan engagement, and data ecosystem. Reporting to the SVP of Engineering, this leader oversees an engineering organization of approximately 100 professionals across DevOps, platform infrastructure, product engineering, and data engineering, ensuring reliable delivery of high-volume commerce and real-time digital experiences. The role partners closely with Product and Technology leadership to deliver secure, resilient, and scalable platforms capable of supporting millions of users and mission-critical business operations. Success requires deep technical credibility and strong organizational leadership to establish engineering best practices, scale cloud infrastructure, and maintain operational excellence across complex systems.
Essential Functions
  • Lead and develop a 100+ person engineering organization spanning product engineering, platform engineering, DevOps, and data engineering while building and mentoring engineering leaders and fostering a culture of ownership, accountability, and technical excellence. Scale hiring, organizational design, and leadership development to support rapid platform growth and ensure the engineering organization can effectively support expanding digital products and infrastructure.
  • Partner closely with Product leadership to design and deliver custom-built platforms aligned to product strategy and roadmap commitments while ensuring engineering teams deliver scalable systems capable of supporting high-traffic digital experiences and commerce platforms. Drive engineering execution across multiple concurrent initiatives and cross-functional product teams to ensure timely, high-quality platform delivery.
  • Oversee engineering including cloud architecture, CI/CD pipelines, and system reliability while leading platform architecture and data engineering initiatives that enable scalable data pipelines and analytics capabilities. Establish engineering standards across multiple programming languages and frameworks to ensure maintainability, performance, and long-term platform stability.
  • Ensure the security and resilience of ecommerce platforms by implementing strong cybersecurity practices, threat monitoring, and vulnerability management. Lead engineering processes that safeguard customer data and support compliance with evolving security and data protection standards.
  • Establish and lead Incident Command Management (ICM) practices across engineering teams while building incident response playbooks, escalation protocols, and operational readiness frameworks. Drive continuous improvement in system reliability, uptime, and recovery performance for mission-critical platforms.
  • Partner with executive leadership to evolve long-term engineering strategy and technology investments while managing engineering budgets, infrastructure planning, and key vendor partnerships. Ensure governance practices support long-term platform scalability, operational resilience, and responsible technology adoption.
  • Team Development & Leadership: Build, mentor, and lead a high-performing DevOps team, promoting collaboration, accountability, and continuous learning

Required Qualifications
  • BA/BS Degree (4-year) BA/BS Degree (4-year) (Advanced Degree Preferred) In Computer Science/MIS or equivalent work experience
  • 10+ years as a technical leader of DevOps or Systems Administration teams.
  • Proven experience in a senior leadership role with strategic responsibilities.
  • Expertise in designing secure cloud services and infrastructure.
  • Knowledge of CI/CD development and tools (Jenkins, Docker, Chef, etc.).
  • Expertise with containers and Kubernetes.
  • Working knowledge of both transactional and NoSQL databases.
  • Strong strategic thinking and leadership skills.
  • Exceptional communication and organizational skills.
  • Systems Administration experience in both Windows and Linux environments.
  • Strong financial acumen and experience with budget management.
  • Proven experience in a senior leadership role with strategic responsibilities.
  • Extensive experience with cloud platforms (Azure, AWS, GCP).
  • Experience leveraging generative AI to improve engineering velocity, modernize workflows, and lead teams through the adoption of transformative development practices.
  • Experience with large-scale, high availability, high demand consumer-facing SaaS web products.
  • Experience with Agile development and CI/CD methodologies.
  • Experience in the Live Events Industry preferred.
  • CISSP Certified Information Systems Security Professional Preferred
  • AWS Certified Solution Architect Preferred

Payscale: $217,119 - $300,000
Bonus: This position is eligible for a bonus under the current bonus plan requirements.
