TITLE: VP of Finance & Accounting
COMPENSATION: $230,000 + 30% Bonus + Equity
LOCATION: Sugar Land, TX 77487
Overview:
CPG and direct to consumer (eCommerce) venture capital backed organization is looking to hire a future leader over finance, accounting, treasury, controls, and investor reporting. Our uniquely positioned merchandise is flying off the shelves and because of our ability to source outside of China we've protected margins as now 80% of our production comes from North America. We want someone who will create growth opportunities for their underlings, challenge others in a thoughtful way, and continually raise the bar on what this company thought their boundaries were.

Primary Responsibilities:
  • Oversee financial operational partnership by managing key management KPIs as well as metrics and controls to ensure operational excellence
  • Compare sales and profit projections to actual figures, expand on the narrative given to you by your FP&A Director, and make necessary adjustments to future forecasts.
  • Define financial reporting package cadence with your ability to bring value to financial ops and enjoy your weekly partnering meetings with the CEO
  • Analyze financial details of past, present, and anticipated operations to identify opportunities and areas of improvement
  • You will monitor and communicate monthly financial performance on a timely basis to the CEO, President, Executive Committee, & board of directors.
  • Main liaison with outside attorney, financial statement auditors & banking relationships.
  • Manage corporate accounting, transactional accounting, treasury, financial systems & financial reporting including financial statement and quarterly board deck production.
  • As a trusted partner to the President, development and refine this company's strategic goals while empowering your departments, co-leading board presentations, derive data driven decisions, and strive for operational excellence.
  • Prepare or assist in the creation of financial projections used to make strategic and tactical decisions designed to improve financial results.
  • Interface with banks to allow your corporate treasury function to control user access, quickly resolve issues, and hedge when necessary.
  • Manage and communicate project timelines, due dates, and deliverables/action items, working with key stakeholders to ensure deliverables are completed on-time and accurately. Remove and escalate obstacles and barriers, escalating issues and concerns to key stakeholders and other executive management.
  • Review of monthly financial statements including income statements, balance sheets, shareholder's equity and cash flow statements.

  • Requirements:
  • Prior Experience at consumer products, eCommerce, M&A centric, or wholesale environments all deemed a good thing
  • Experience with Hyperion, NetSuite, Intacct, MS Dynamics GP, Oracle Financial Consolidation and Close (FCCS Oracle Cloud), SmartView, OneStream, or Adaptive Insights a plus.
  • Enjoys communication with manufacturing, operations, supply chain, marketing, advertising, and C-Level executives
