Overview

Champion Windows - Vice President of Sales

Location: Cincinnati, OH; Atlanta, GA; or Charlotte, NC – Hybrid / Field-Based. This position must be based in one of these three markets and requires frequent travel across Champion’s national footprint.

The Vice President of Sales provides strategic leadership, direction, and accountability for Champion’s nationwide sales organization. Reporting to the Division President, this role owns the brand’s sales strategy, field execution, revenue performance, and sales leadership structure across a large, multi-region B2C organization, ensuring Champion delivers sustainable growth, strong margins, and a consistent customer experience across all markets.

Serving as Champion’s senior sales leader and integrator, the Vice President translates corporate growth objectives into disciplined execution through Regional and market leaders. This is a highly field-oriented role, with significant time spent in Champion markets coaching leaders, strengthening sales execution, and ensuring consistent adherence to the Champion Playbook, selling standards, pricing discipline, and performance expectations. The role uses data and analytics to improve bookings growth, close rates, yield, profitability, forecasting accuracy, and overall sales productivity.

The Vice President partners closely with operations, marketing, and centralized support teams to align lead generation, sales capacity, talent, and the sales-to-operations handoff. With Champion making a significant investment in marketing-generated leads, this role is also responsible for ensuring disciplined lead management and conversion across the organization. Success in this role will directly influence Champion’s ability to scale its in-home sales organization, strengthen leadership capability, expand into new markets, and achieve predictable, profitable growth.

Responsibilities Essential Functions:

Strategic Sales Leadership

  • Set and execute the overall sales strategy for the Champion brand, aligning field execution with Champion's growth goals, operating model, and brand standards to drive top-line revenue and profitability.
  • Lead Champion's sales leadership team to deliver profitable growth and consistent selling execution across all branches nationwide.
  • Define annual and quarterly sales goals by region and territory, and recommend the supporting strategies, staffing, and initiatives required to achieve them.
  • Collaborate with the Division President, VP of Operations, and executive leadership to ensure seamless alignment between sales, marketing, service, and operations.

Performance Management & Analytics

  • Monitor and guide regional and branch execution of budgeted sales targets, close rates, profit margins, and customer-experience KPIs, holding leaders accountable to clear performance expectations.
  • Use sales analytics, job cost data, and performance dashboards to assess results by region and branch, identify areas for improvement, and deliver data-driven performance management plans.
  • Own the sales forecast for the Champion brand—producing accurate, timely revenue projections and reporting results, trends, and risks to executive leadership to support predictable, scalable growth.
  • Strategically influence key planning levers—closing percentages, compensation design, sales incentive programs, and lead distribution—to maximize sales performance and self-generation.
  • Ensure equitable, disciplined lead distribution and a consistent selling process across all Champion markets.

Talent, Training & Playbook Adherence

  • Drive recruiting, hiring, and onboarding of sales leaders and field sales representatives to maintain proper staffing levels across all Champion markets.
  • Ensure consistent adherence to the Champion Playbook and selling standards, including presentation methodology, pricing discipline, and self-generation funnel building.
  • Champion field sales training for new hires and veterans, and provide coaching and leadership development to Regional leaders to build a strong bench of future sales talent.
  • Provide leadership and product/financing expertise across the Champion product line so teams sell effectively across the full portfolio.

Growth, Collaboration & Customer Experience

  • Lead sales expansion into new geographic markets, partnering on branch openings through market-entry planning, talent acquisition, and training.
  • Partner with marketing to drive the demand-generation and lead-flow strategy—aligning on lead volume, cost-per-lead, appointment setting, events, and canvassing—to build a healthy, predictable pipeline that supports Champion's sales goals.
  • Collaborate with the VP of Operations to enhance the end-to-end sales-to-operations handoff, ensuring operational readiness and fulfillment excellence.
  • Model and enforce a people-first, high-accountability culture and exceptional customer-service standards, ensuring markets maintain strong customer-satisfaction ratings.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.
Qualifications Skills, Knowledge, and Abilities
  • Vision and leadership skills required to drive change and build a high-performance culture across a large, multi-market sales organization.
  • Strong financial and business acumen, including budgeting, forecasting, margin management, and job cost analysis.
  • Ability to analyze sales, operational, and profitability metrics and translate insights into clear action plans.
  • Expert coaching, influencing, and organizational-development capabilities, with experience leading through Regional leaders and other managers of managers.
  • Deep experience leading large-scale direct-to-consumer (B2C) sales organizations and structured selling processes; experience with in-home and one-call-close sales models strongly preferred.
  • Strong understanding of lead-flow management, including maximizing conversion of marketing-generated leads from assignment through close.
  • Demonstrated ability to drive consistent sales execution across a large, geographically dispersed organization.
  • Superior communication, interpersonal, and cross-functional collaboration skills at the executive level.
  • Strong field-leadership mindset with the ability and willingness to spend significant time in markets coaching leaders and sales teams.
  • Proficiency in CRM/sales-performance platforms, Microsoft Suite, and data-driven decision-making.

Preferred

  • Experience with the Champion Playbook or a comparable structured selling system.
  • Experience designing sales compensation and incentive programs.
  • Experience opening new locations or expanding into new geographic markets.
  • Experience with canvassing or other field-based lead-generation channels. Education and Experience
    • Bachelor's degree in Business, Sales, Marketing, or a related field, or equivalent experience.
    • Minimum of 12–15 years of progressive sales leadership experience in a multi-location, direct-to-consumer environment.
    • Demonstrated experience leading a large B2C sales organization with approximately $350M–$500M in annual revenue, bookings, or comparable sales volume.
    • Prior experience leading managers of managers, such as Regional Vice Presidents, Regional Sales Managers, or Area Managers, across a large geography.
    • Proven track record of successfully scaling a large, multi-location sales organization.
    • Demonstrated track record of driving top-line growth, improving close rates and margins, and building strong sales leadership teams.

    Preferred

    • Experience in residential home improvement, in-home sales, HVAC, home services, or a related direct-to-consumer industry strongly preferred.
    • MBA preferred.
    Success Measures

    Success in this role will be demonstrated through:

    • Bookings / Revenue Growth: Sustain a minimum of 10% year-over-year growth for the Champion brand.
    • Customer Experience: Maintain an NPS of 70 or higher.
    • Close Rate: Maintain net close rates of 25% or higher.
    • Yield: Maintain yield at or above established Champion targets.
    • Sales Execution: Drive consistent Champion Playbook adherence and sales performance across all markets.
    • Lead Management: Maximize the conversion and productivity of Champion’s marketing-generated lead flow.
    • Staffing & Leadership: Maintain appropriate sales staffing levels and build a strong succession bench across the organization.
