Job description

Insero Talent Solutions is seeking a hands-on Controller for our manufacturing client to manage one of their division's day-to-day accounting operations and financial reporting. The candidate must be detail-oriented with strong technical and analytical skills, possess strong communication skills, and have the ability to prioritize and manage deadlines. This is an individual contributor role reporting to the VP of Finance and this position is fully in-person.

Responsibilities/Key Objectives

· Oversee the division's daily accounting operations/functions including accounting, financial reporting, and internal control

· Perform monthly and quarterly close activities, including recording journal entries, analyzing variances, and preparing internal financial statements, operational reports and account reconciliations

· Communicate monthly results to division president and management team

· Prepare weekly operational reports

· Perform ad hoc reporting/analysis as requested by management and operations

· Remit quarterly sales tax to applicable states

· Assist operations with inventory cycle counts

· Assist with fixed asset accounting and depreciation

· Work with external auditors

· Prepare annual 1099s for all divisions

Qualifications

· Bachelor's degree in Accounting required

· 7+ years of experience with a strong preference in a manufacturing environment/cost accounting

· Strong knowledge of GAAP

· Hands-on experience with month and year-end close, and general ledger

· Knowledge in payroll, accounts payable, and accounts receivable functions

· Advanced Excel (i.e., pivot tables, VLOOKUPs, etc.); experience with Syteline ERP system is a plus
