Position Summary
The Vice President, Controller will be responsible for all aspects of financial accounting and financial reporting including the preparation of monthly financial statements and Forms 10-Q and 10-K and related disclosures and footnotes. The successful candidate will ensure compliance with policies and procedures including key controls over financial reporting.

Duties & Responsibilities:
  • Manage, mentor, train and develop the accounting staff
  • Provide accounting support to the management team and billing support for tenants
  • Analyze monthly property operating statements and work with property management to identify and explain causes of variances
  • Ensure all monthly, quarterly and annual financial reports are prepared in conformance with US GAAP and are consistent from period to period
  • Review monthly cash flow forecasts prepared for monthly management reporting
  • Continuously improve through automation, improved processes and efficient procedures the accuracy, efficiency and timeliness of information provided to stakeholders
  • Remain current on new and evolving changes in US GAAP and analyze the impact of those changes on the Company
  • Review accounts receivable and ensure that the level of the provision for doubtful accounts is reasonable

$280,000 - $325,000 a year
The actual base pay offered is determined by several variables, including, as appropriate, the applicant's qualifications for the position, years of relevant experience, distinctive skills, level of education attained, certifications or other professional licenses held. Base pay is one component of Saul Centers Inc. total compensation package, which also includes access to or eligibility for healthcare benefits, a 401(k) plan, short-term and long-term disability coverage, basic life insurance, bonus plans and more.
