Vortex Optics is looking for a talented individual to temporarily join our Freight team this fall with an expected start date in late July/early August. In this role, you will be responsible for learning many roles within our Warehouse, which will keep the work environment dynamic and varied. Primary hours will be Monday - Friday, 7:00am - 3:00pm, but additional hours and flexibility may be required. 


What You'll Be Doing

  • Pick/Audit/Package and ship customer orders
  • Processing necessary orders within the WMS and TMS
  • Labeling of orders that require UCC labels
  • Train and operate material handling equipment
  • Maintain and organize adequate shipping supplies
  • Perform general warehouse maintenance such as cleaning, sweeping, organizing
  • Perform timely and accurate completion of all special projects
  • Follow safety procedures in accordance with approved training and reports any dangerous conditions to a member of management immediately
  • Perform all department functions as necessary, demonstrate good work habits, encourage clean and safe work habits, and exhibit positive attitudes toward internal and external customers
  • Operates standard office equipment efficiently to include - computer with printer, photocopy machine
  • Provide a high-level of customer service in a professional manner
  • Perform additional duties as assigned, working together in a cooperative manner to achieve department and company goals

Requirements

  • Ability to lift 40 lbs.
  • Experience with Microsoft Office (Outlook, Excel, Word)
  • Experience with business operating systems, (SAP experience preferred)
