Job description

DUTIES: Check out books, DVD's, magazines, and checks them back in when returned. Keep books, magazines and DVD's filed back on the shelves. Sort donations for sale. Maintains the program to buy books and other materials. Responsible for paying the bills and being able to cover volunteer positions such as President, Secretary and Treasurer when needed. Help with fund raising events.

QUALIFICATIONS: Be able to deal with the public in a courteous and professional manner. Need to be able to add and handle money. Need to be able to interact with other volunteers.

SCHEDULE: On a regular basis.

TRAINING: Provided at site

INFORMATION ABOUT Retired and Senior Volunteer Program (RSVP)

AmeriCorps Retired and Senior Volunteer Program (RSVP) is the nation's largest network for retired volunteers, 55 years and older. This is a wonderful time to give back to the community and join RSVP! Our mission is to develop meaningful volunteer opportunities, promote a purpose driven life, and give back to the community!

As a member of RSVP you will receive an invitation to a volunteer recognition event held once each year. At the events, each volunteer will receive a thoughtful gift and a healthy lunch!

This program offers volunteers a flexible schedule, a variety of opportunities, and a chance to meet other volunteers who have similar interests!

Current RSVP volunteer positions include: local food banks, congregate meal sites, history museums, non-profit thrift stores, hospitals, and clerical and administrative opportunities. We are always looks for new and unique volunteer opportunities. RSVP is sponsored by Lutheran Community Services Northwest, a private, not-for-profit organization dedicated to improving the lives of the people it serves.
