What is a Volunteer Remote Selenium role?

A Volunteer Remote Selenium role involves contributing to software testing projects by using Selenium, a popular open-source tool for automating web browsers. As a remote volunteer, you typically help organizations automate their web application tests from your own location, often collaborating with a distributed team. Job description

Are you ready to unlock your true potential? Join a growing and global company where you can be part of a team that fuels supply chain solutions. Discover how you can make a significant impact.
We are seeking a talented Senior QA Engineer to own quality strategy across TrueCommerce's platform modernization program.
Quality at TrueCommerce is not a gate at the end of the sprint - it is built in from the first story point. As Senior QA Engineer you will own the test strategy across the modernization program, build the automation suite that keeps the live TC.Net platform stable during rapid change, and be the voice that asks "what could go wrong?" before anyone writes a line of code.
We value our employees with competitive benefits and generous paid time off packages, flexible and casual work environments, career development, recognition programs and more!
This role is a remote opportunity.
What You'll Do:
  • Define and maintain the overall test strategy - unit, integration, API, end-to-end, and regression - across teams
  • Build and own the automated test suite using Playwright (E2E), xUnit/NUnit (.NET), and API testing tools (Postman, RestSharp, or equivalent)
  • Design integration and regression tests for EDI pipelines, canonical API endpoints, and data transformation flows
  • Embed in sprint ceremonies - write test cases during refinement, not after delivery
  • Own the CI quality gate - no PR merges without passing automated tests; define and enforce the bar
  • Lead exploratory and risk-based testing on high-stakes releases (scheduler refactor, SSO, canonical model launch)
  • Develop test coverage for agentic / AI features - prompt regression, tool-call validation, output consistency checks
  • Maintain performance and load test suite for API endpoints and data pipelines
  • Produce clear defect reports; triage with engineers; track resolution to closure

Requirements for Success:
  • 5+ years of QA engineering experience, with at least 2 years on API or platform-level testing
  • Strong test automation skills - Playwright or Selenium for E2E; xUnit/NUnit for .NET; Postman or equivalent for API testing
  • Experience testing REST APIs and integration pipelines - can write and run API test collections from scratch
  • Cloud platform familiarity - Azure; ability to trace a failing CI pipeline or read a deployment log
  • Integration platform testing - has tested against message queues, webhooks, or EDI/B2B data flows
  • Agentic / AI feature testing - experience testing LLM-powered features, including non-deterministic output validation and prompt regression
  • Comfortable writing code - can read C# and TypeScript well enough to understand a function and write a test for it
  • Strong communication skills - can write a defect report that an engineer can act on without a meeting
  • Preferred: experience with EDI (X12/EDIFACT) or supply chain integration testing
  • Preferred: performance and load testing experience - JMeter, k6, or Azure Load Testing
  • Preferred: familiarity with shift-left QA practices and BDD (Gherkin/SpecFlow)
  • Preferred: knowledge of accessibility testing (WCAG 2.1)

Perks & Benefits
  • Remote first and casual work environment
  • 401k with 3.5% company match and vested after 2 years
  • 20 PTO days - 1 birthday day off - 3 summer days - 1 volunteer day - 10 company holidays
  • Medical, dental, vision and other life/health insurance plans
  • Paid parental leave
  • Wellness reimbursement program
