Vega Consulting is Hiring! W2, Senior Software Engineer (Testing/Automation) with strong Java back ground. This is a hybrid position and will require candidates attend an onsite interview in Reston, VA.

Job Description:

  • Design/develop/maintain scalable automated test frameworks and suites
  • Build UI, API, integration, and end-to-end automated test flows
  • Automation scripting in Java/TypeScript using the above tools
  • Database validation testing, complex SQL queries
  • Maintain CI/CD-integrated regression/shakeout jobs

Technical Requirement:

  • 6 10 years experience
  • Mongo DB, Aurora PostgreSQL
  • Java and TypeScript
  • Must have automation framework expertise
  • Automation tools: Selenium WebDriver, Karate, and Playwright (Karate confirmed as must-have, not nice-to-have)
  • BDD/TDD experience
  • Strong SQL and database testing (data simulation, migration testing
  • Database exposure: PostgreSQL, MongoDB, Aurora (NoSQL)
  • API testing (RESTful services)
  • CI/CD pipeline experience (DevOps exposure)
  • Agile/Scrum methodology understanding
  • Source control (Git, Bitbucket, or similar)
  • Test case documentation/defect tracking (Jira, Rally, etc.)
  • Preferred AWS Cloud experience (any cloud migration experience acceptable, not AWS-exclusive)
  • AI/ML testing exposure (hands-on AI experience is a plus, not required for this role contrasted with a separate req, 50641, where AI experience is a must)
