Description

A large global systems integrator supporting Google is hiring L1 and L2 Data Center Technicians in the greater Omaha/Council Bluffs area. These roles will support Google’s Patch Panel program, providing hands-on data center and infrastructure support.


L1 Data Center Technician

Focus: Entry-level support with hands-on hardware responsibilities.

Responsibilities:

  • Assist with moves, adds, and changes (MAC) for equipment and cabling
  • Perform basic hardware tasks such as racking and stacking servers and network equipment
  • Install copper and fiber cabling, including labeling and documenting connections
  • Monitor environmental conditions and follow operational checklists
  • Escalate issues to higher-level technicians while gaining familiarity with systems and procedures

L2 Data Center Technician

Focus: Intermediate technical support with increased independence.

Responsibilities:

  • Lead MAC operations and ensure compliance with cabling and racking standards
  • Install and manage copper and fiber cabling, including proper labeling and documentation
  • Independently perform racking, stacking, and structured cabling for new deployments
  • Troubleshoot network connectivity and hardware issues, including fiber diagnostics
  • Coordinate with vendors and internal teams to support infrastructure upgrades

  • Schedule: 8:00 AM – 5:00 PM

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $23.00 - $28.00/hr.
