Job description

Position Summary: Performs a variety of routine and specialized MRI procedures for inpatients, outpatients and emergency department patients of all ages. Performs assigned supervisory functions. Maintains the standards of ARRT.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
  • Demonstrates courteous behavior through polite and respectful communication to all customers and adheres to the 7 customer service behaviors
  • Adheres to MRI safety standards
  • Verifies physician orders for instructions from requesting physician and consults with the radiologists as necessary. Preps patient for exam. Explains procedure and provides education and instruction to patient as appropriate.
  • Performs all magnetic resonance imaging (MRI) studies and administration of contrast media utilizing age related technical and positioning protocols and safety procedures according to department policy and procedure. Assists radiologist with MR procedures as requested.
  • Evaluates MRI images for technical quality
  • Operates and maintains MRI and associated equipment and supplies. Performs equipment warm up, calibration and safety check. Operates hospital computer system. Reports to supervisor any equipment malfunctions. Operates equipment in accordance with manufacturer guidelines for appropriate quality control.
  • Completes documentation according to guidelines
  • Adheres to hospital policies and professional standards

Required Qualifications:
Education and Training:
  • Current ARRT/ ARMRIT certification.
  • Minimum 2 years clinical MRI scanning experience preferred.
  • Excellent customer service skills.
