Job description

This position is located in Region Six, Recovery Division. The ideal candidate for this position will be highly organized with excellent customer service and the ability to multi-task and prioritize under stressful conditions. The incumbent will also have excellent written and oral communication skills with experience and knowledge in office management, technical writing, processing correspondence, and MS Office products.Qualifications:Current Federal employees must have served 52 weeks at the next lower grade or equivalent grade band in the Federal service. The qualification requirements listed below must be met by the closing date of this announcement.
To qualify for this position at the GS-12 level, you must possess one full year of specialized experience equivalent to at least the GS-11 level in the Federal government, which has equipped you with the skills needed to successfully perform the duties of the position. Experience may be obtained in the federal government, a state or local government, or private sector, and must demonstrate the following:
  1. Managing projects, schedules, deadlines, and benchmarks; communication and coordination and providing information on FEMA policy and procedures related to day-to-day recovery operations,
  2. Performing technical writing functions requiring substantive knowledge of the various functional areas of emergency management and of the specialized terminology required,
  3. Producing advanced reporting and presentation products.
