Job description

Title of role: Assistant Buyer- Elf 
Location: New York or Boston; Hybrid (2 days in the office required) 
Approved Salary Range: $58,000-$66,500

About the Role:

As an Assistant Buyer, you'll be responsible for supporting the Buyer by providing key market trends, order writing, and maintaining relationships with vendors. This role will survey the competitive retail landscape and use their findings to make informed suggestions concerning pricing and merchandise assortment.  

We are looking for candidates who are analytical, collaborative, and curious, who can form productive relationships with cross functional partners as well as key vendors. These skills will greatly assist in the procurement process of merchandise.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Analyze sales trends, inventory, and margin to achieve KPIs (key performance indicators)
  • Research competitive landscape and conduct market research to bring market trends to life on our sites
  • Foster relationships with vendors to maintain our position as an established off-price channel for the most recognized brands
  • Mentor Merchandise Assistants to ensure proper and timely completion of work assignments
  • Collaborate closely with cross-functional partners to ensure our sites continue to surprise and delight our members
  • Curate boutiques based on current trends and inventory levels to achieve KPIs (key performance indicators)
  • Ability to adapt well to changes in direction and priorities in a fast-paced and deadline-oriented environment

  • Passionate about Merchandising, e-commerce, and all things fashion! (Place vs years exp)

Experience and Background Needed:

  • Bachelors
  • 1-3 years experience in merchandising or retail environment 
  • Proficient in MS Office Suite (Excel: VLOOKUPs, Pivot Tables, and Formulas)
  • Experience with Merchandise software tools
