Description:
Job Title: Central Sterile Processing Tech II
Employment Type: Full-time
Shift: Day (8-4:30pm or 9-5:30pm)
Location: Silver Spring
Position Purpose
Under minimal supervision, the Central Services Technician III is responsible for decontamination, cleaning, processing, and sterilization of supplies and equipment dispensed by the department following established infection control practices. Able to accept new ideas, and will assist in implementing them into the department. Actively engages in the department's performance improvement activities.
As a "Central Sterile Processing Tech II" you will:
  • Decontamination, cleaning, processing, and sterilization of supplies and equipment dispensed by the department following established infection control practices.
  • Competent and comfortable consistently reviewing each service line schedule, preparing the sets, processing the sets, if a loaner is needed acquiring the sets, anticipating the needs before the customer knows what they need, and calling the customer and communicating the status so that they are always informed.
  • Competent in utilizing Cerner for reviewing the schedule and preparing for the next day surgery needs for every service line
  • Maintain personal productivity at an average of 95% or greater.

Minimum Qualifications:
  • Sterile Processing Tech Certification - IAHCSMM or CBSPD
  • High School Diploma
  • 2 years of experience as a sterile processing tech
  • Ability to read, write, speak and comprehends English.
  • Basic computer skills.
  • Ability to perform simple math.
  • Physical Requirements: Ability to lift over twenty-five (25) pounds of instrument trays, equipment and supplies. Pushing and pulling of carts. Reaching and handling of instruments and supplies.

Pay Range: $19.72 - $27.61
Pay is based on experience, skills, and education. Exempt positions under the Fair Labor Standards Act (FLSA) will be paid within the base salary equivalent of the stated hourly rates. The pay range may also vary within the stated range based on location.
FT/PT Benefit eligible Roles:
**0.5 FTE (20 hours weekly) up to 1.0 FTE (40 hours weekly)
