Overview / Responsibilities

An IC&E Technician is responsible for the installation, maintenance, and repair of instrumentation and control devices/electrical systems on remote facilities.

12 hour rotating schedule/ 14 days on-14 days off

Authorization to work lawfully in the US without sponsorship from Wood is required

  • Troubleshoot and repair all plant instrumentation.
  • Troubleshoot and repair Control and Electrical systems. (PLCs, transmitters, control wiring, MCCs, Soft Starters, VFD's etc..). 
  • Troubleshoot and repair control/communication networks within plant  (Ethernet I/P, Network Switches, Fiber Optics, Ethernet and Serial Radio networks)  
  • Works Safely around instrumentation and electrical systems.
Skills / Qualifications
  • 2 years of experience as an IC&E Technician or an Associate's Degree in Instrumentation, Controls or Electrical Systems.
  • NM Journeyman's license a plus but not mandatory.
  • Understand basic plant operation.
  • Fisher ROC experience a plus.
  • Allen Bradley PLC/Rockwell Automation and Delta V DCS experience is a plus.
  • Experience with wired and wireless Rosemount Pressure Transmitters, Guided Wave Radar's, D.P. Level, Level Switch's, Gateway's, and Temperature Transmitters a plus.
  • Knowledge of control valves and positioners.
  • Knowledge of control loops.
  • Knowledge of Ethernet Radio and Serial Radio networks.
  • Solid understanding of low and medium voltage electrical equipment such as switch gears, Variable Frequency Drives, lighting contactors, and 24 volt DCE control circuits
  • Computer Skills: Microsoft Word and Excel
  • Willing to work overtime when necessary (not guaranteed).
  • 12 hour rotating schedule/ 14 days on-14 days off
