Job description

Outage Specialist, Principal - Plant Hatch 

Job Summary Responsible for scoping all refueling outage activities, including Pre-outage and Outage. This position serves as the primary liaison to the other site departments, particularly Operations, Engineering, and Maintenance, with respect to Outage Scoping and associated Milestones. This position is also responsible for managing Long Range plans, Outage Scope Change Request, Outage PM Changes, and Forced Outage Plans and Readiness.

Job Requirements 

Minimum 

  • Personal computer (PC) knowledge 
  • Strong Intradepartmental communications skills (verbal and written) 
  • Minimum of 5 years overall nuclear power experience. 
  • Experience with ESOMs/Maximo
  • At least 2 years Engineering, Maintenance, or Operations leadership experience, or at least 2 years of licensed plant operating experience."

Preferred 

  • Current or Previous SRO license with on-shift experience.
  • Experience directing and/or conducting operations activities or planning/scheduling maintenance resources in at least 3 refueling outages.
  • Experience owning or managing long range planning or preventive maintenance strategies for engineering systems, components, or programs.
  • Shutdown Safety Program knowledge.
  • Working knowledge of scheduling tools (e.g. Primavera P6).

MAJOR RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Own the refueling outage scoping process and associated milestones, including reviewing work orders for inclusion in outage scope, leading teams to review and approve scope, and developing milestone deliverables for scoping. 
  • Own the forced outage scoping process including work order review and selection for inclusion in forced outages. 
  • Develops and maintains outage long-range plans and Plan of Record Documents.
  • Responsible to lead or attend the various Outage Management process meetings. 
  • Secondary responsibility for the development of plans / schedules for forced, planned, and refueling outages while ensuring shutdown safety, ALARA practice, Technical Specifications and plant procedures adherence. 
  • Utilize SNC Fleet outage Lessons learned, Industry meetings and industry working groups such as BWROG, PWROG, EPRI, and INPO to drive continuous improvement in outages.
  • Supports the Outage Manager with business plan initiatives. 
  • Serves as backup Outage Manager when needed.
