BILINGUAL CONTROLLER - ABOUT THE ROLE
The Controller is responsible for all accounting-related activities, including oversight of its operating budget, financial reporting systems, and managing Finance Team Members.
RESPONSIBILITIES
- Implement consistent accounting policies, practices, and procedures across all programs, adhering to national and local legal standards while remaining knowledgeable of proposed legislation.
- Develop and enforce internal controls to maximize protection of company assets, policies, procedures, and workflows.
- Oversee and support accounting team with dynamic leadership that creates an environment of trust and productivity.
- Provide comprehensive financial updates to management by evaluating, analyzing, and reporting appropriate data points.
- Guide financial decisions by applying company policies and procedures to current economic landscape.
EDUCATION
Bachelor’s degree in accounting, Finance, or a related field required.
REQUIREMENTS
- 7-12+ years of progressive accounting and finance experience.
- Minimum 3-5 years of leadership experience in a Controller, Assistant Controller, Finance Manager, or similar role.
- Manufacturing accounting experience required.
- Bilingual (Spanish/English) is required.
- Automotive or industrial manufacturing experience is strongly preferred.
- Strong knowledge of cost accounting and standard costing methodologies.
- Experience with inventory control and variance analysis.
- Understanding of plant-level financial reporting and operational KPIs.
- Proven budgeting and forecasting experience.
- Knowledge of internal controls and SOX compliance principles.
- Strong analytical, problem-solving, and decision-making skills.
- Excellent communication and leadership abilities.
- Advanced Microsoft Excel and ERP system experience.
PREFERRED ADDITIONAL QUALIFICATIONS
- Certified Public Accountant (CPA)
- Certified Management Accountant (CMA)
- Experience in a Tier 1 automotive manufacturing environment.
